Hubby, Mark, started vaping 2 days after I did about a month ago. At first, both nic and flavor was satisfying him to a point of being able to steer clear from ciggies. The PV's he is using are 502Ds from e-health cigarette and are tricky at best to refill and don't last long at all.

He is/was a menthol smoker smoking Marlboro Menthol Light and Pall Mall menthol. I own 2 VKs that he has taken some hits from occasionally. A menthol carto was thrown into my last order and Mark liked the way it tasted and the amount of vapor that came from it. So, I have decided to order him a VK kit today, but I don't know what nic strength to get or which menthol flavor to go with so he can get satisfied instead of just content (he's been straying back to cigs 3-4 times a day).

Any help/advice is greatly appreciated!!!

After many, many helpful suggestions, I have decided on ordering him the shorty kit with Prem. Menthol Lovers 24mg with an extra Prem. SSM 36mg pk.
Thank you all and I will keep this thread updated with his reactions and preferences. :)

COWBOY Menthol to start.....get a a pack of 36mg and a pack of 24mg OR get the "Premium Menthol Lovers" pack in 36mg and 24mg.

i'm still new to this myself and he's probably like me......needs a good "Chuck Norris Boot Heel" to the throat.

once he starts getting past the "difference" of how an ecig is to an analog he'll start calming down and noticing the menthol and tobacco flavoring.

it took me a bit to notice the difference between the Kamel and Cowboy. once he's settled in on a flavor and nicotine level then, i'd also recommend a 30ml ejuice to top off.

the hardest part i'd say is an analog is consistent with every drag....be it quick or short......you have to be slow and smooth with an ecig. an analog is already "combusting" where an ecig gets "fired up" with every hit. tell him he has to give it a moment to get good "hits".

definitely make sure he has a Passthrough and Passthrough car charger.

Chuck is so tough he could strangle someone with a cordless phone......;)

Some people it takes longer than others to get adjusted. I'd start out with 36 mg just because of the psychological component of really really getting that much needed nicotine fix. After a week I swictched to 24mg Also let him try a few other fun flavors so he can really get how amazing vaping is. We are so used to our routine and comfort zone of cigs, but with vaping the possibilities are endless. The first day I got my kit I threw my cigs out, others can't quite get rid of em as easy. 3-4 times a day isn't bad. He will get to the point where smoking cigs is just weird.

Also try to keep it simple in the beginning and I suggest to just use cartomizers, then after he gets used to it he could go to the refilling. Worked for me.

Wow! Thank you everyone for your much needed advice. I'm guessing the SSM and Kamel menthols give that power menthol-ly taste?

As far as the nic, I think I may go with 24mg since the pre-made juice is stronger than the homemade ones from his sis that were suppose to be 36mg.

And, Michelle, I didn't want to over do it with the title but I really needed some quick advice. LOL. I'm ordering him a kit today before I get off work so it will be here, hopefully, by Saturday.

I'm really glad you posted this question because my husband is having trouble here and there- bums a couple of analogues a day and sometimes buys a pack on the weekends. He's at 20-24 mg now... I wonder if attempting 36 may help him too... Though it's kinda scary to me because too many hits of 20 mg sends me into a nice head buzz! 8-o

Yeah 36 is real strong, but for people who are struggling I recommend it cause it worked for me in the very beginning, and my brother when he was struggling. I think it has something to do with the psychological component. :p

I love the title of this thread!

Ok, so the 36mg is a real kick in the behind. Maybe that's what he needs; that "nic buzz".

I was feeling a bit comical when I made the thread title. Hee hee.

The thing about 36 is its a killer throat hit, and its like drinking a cup of coffee. I also recommend the new premium carts, more vapor, also helps with the psychological aspect. I have a feeling a whole lot of our success is determined about our mind state. Is he using autos or manuals?

At the moment he has the autos. I have one man batt that he tried but he couldn't get his mind around having to push the button each time. He has a much harder draw than I do and I prefer the mans personally.

It takes about 2 weeks for your damaged taste buds to grow back. He'll be hooked on e-juice and all the wonderful flavors after that. Also, tell him instead of one little draw pushing the button the entire time, take a slow deep draw, 'pulsing' the button on about every 5 seconds, then inhaling air until your lungs are completely full and holding it.That gives you multiple hits on the same drag and a lung hit just like an analog. Takes about a month to get the technique down without thinking about it. This also keeps the element from overheating and killing itself to boot. Juice vapor doesn't deliver nicotine to the bloodstream as efficiently as tobacco on fire and it doesn't have the 4,000 other chemicals either.

go with 24 for normal use.. and some 36 when you are at the point of really wanting a cig use that..

exactly what I do now. Also, I sometimes use it on monday mornings:cool: But for someone who is having a hard time getting "satisfied" maybe trying 36 will do the trick. It's all different for everyone. I wish there was like a scale that says..1 pack a day=12mgs..2packs a day=24...and so on. It would be so much easier finding that sweet spot

I also love the manual pggylb..it is so much easier for me, although it does take time getting used to

Don't forget that there are other elements (chemicals) that we are not getting when vaping that we got when smoking. For someone who did great for a month and is now having trouble, I have to wonder if that could be part of the problem. I did great for 3 months and then for a few days to a week, I was having terrible cravings and vaping didn't do it for me. I roughed it out and made it over that hump and didn't smoke a cig. The same thing happened to my sister after 1 month of vaping and it subsided in a few days for her, she made it over that as well. Just a thought, may not be anything, but it was an issue for both of us.
