Is this a diy you made? If so..do another @ 4mg and combine to get 8mg.
If It's a store bought you can pick up some vg @ walmart or pg at tractor supply(gallon...$20....probably not worth it unless you are into diy) and do the same.
If you do this keep in mind you'll completely change the flavor, but you can get the nic content down to 8mg.
Well...maybe not COMPLETELY change it, but you will be diluting it down.
I bet one of the more knowledgeable mixers will jump in here and maybe have a better solution for you.
About 1ml of vg or pg and about .25 ml of favoring. This is a little high on flavoring but the easiest math. You can get vg at Walmart or Michaels and loranns flavoring at most craft stores. There is also a DIY calculator that will give you better percentages.

Since we know you have 5ml of 12mg/ml, or 60mg of nicotine, and you want 8mg/ml we can use simple ratio math of 60mg / 8mg/ml to show you need 2.5ml of that USP VG you just bought from Walmart to make 7.5ml bottle of 8mg/ml diluted juice.
I'm not going to say it will be good or exactly what you wanted, but since it is quick and from a local store, plus gets you to 8mg/ml, it meets all the requirements of your post.

If diluting it doesn't help, it may be the brand of Nic juice you bought. I've bought a few kinds that were too spicy for me to use at any strength. If that's it, try the Nic juice from CCV or MFS because I've found theirs to be flavorless with no spice or bite to them
