I used to get around a week with my store bought juice on a nautilus with pre built coils.I used to buy a bottle of store bought and mix it with unflavored into thirds so i ended up with three bottles. My mix was and still is 50vg/50 pg.
Interesting. I may have to try this. Where do you get unflavored anyway?

I make a 7% flavor total Vanilla Custard based on CAP VC V1 and use a tiny bit of liquid stevia sweetener and get about 60 ml thru a coil in a STM before rewicking.
Very similar to me,CAP vanilla custard V2 2.5% and CAP French vanilla V2 2.5% mixed together.Vaped on Tobeco Kayfun v5 clone.Current build is Kanthal a1 29 ga 2.5 mm id 6 wraps coming in at 1.53 ohms at 11 watts.Get around 60 ml before i change wicks. I do not notice a need to just do it every week.

This is very interesting, but how do you do this? I realize this is a Pandora's box type question....

Study up on diy. Using forums here and you tube.

I may be off a bit on my percentages but here is my recipe.

120 ml batch.
4 ml CAP Vanilla Custard V1
1.5 ml CAP Vanilla Whipped Cream
5 drops Nu Naturals Clear NuStevia Avail at GNC or online amazon, etc.
3 ml 100 mg/ml Nicotine concentrate. Adjust this to suit this gives me about 2.5 mg/ml nic strength.
fill the rest with 50/50 PG/VG.
Shake very well and let sit a minimum of 24 hours. Vapes good after only 24 hour steep time.
Longer steep makes it a bit better but not a lot.

This has been my ADV for quite a while.

Yes, I understand that completely unflavored juice will vape clean, but if I'm I'm going to start vaping unflavored then I might as well quit vaping, or go back to cigarettes.

Well, unflavored really is a misnomer. It has a very distinct flavor, some will actually say it is as close to smoking a light cigarette as it gets. I agree with that as well. You may be surprised at the "flavor" of unflavored.

Somewhere out there
You can also buy a PG/VG mix of your choice and Nic level you use ready to add flavors to at many of the nic base sellers-Heartland, Wizard labs, RTS to name a few :) Give it a try, you will be amazed how easy it is and how much $'s you save :) A Good place to get small size flavors to try is GremlinDIY. They carry all the fav name brands and you can try a bunch for very low cost at 5ml size. Dive in & have fun!

As the others have mentioned. It has a lot to do with the specific flavorings in the E-liquid.

2 of my favorite flavors from Oasis Vape are Pebbled Milk and Berry Lemonade. Both are 75VG/25PG

The Pebbled Milk is a serious coil gunker. I absolutely have to dry burn and rewick my STM every 15-20mls.

The coil in my other STM when vaping Berry Lemonade lasts 75ml+

So with any juice YMMV...

Adding a few drops of alcohol to your juice will help keep your coil cleaner. Or you could just buy juices that use alcohol based flavors. I use a alcohol based red hot cinnamon and my coils stay clean for months.

Whoa. This is a thing? Never heard of this. Who uses alcohol bases for their juices? I'd be interested in trying some.

I forgot who makes alcohol based juices. There's a big thread here about it. I'll have to do a search and find it and post the link here. Here's a link to the juice I use.

This.

I rewick about once a week and vape a pretty clean juice. Which I make.
I'm in the same place as you except I dry burn and rewick about twice a week because that seems to help with throat hit which I like. My DIY has a very low percent of flavoring. My coils gunk up far less than when I was buying premix but I still rewick twice a week.

So with any juice YMMV...

Whether you diy or buy pre-maid juice as a general rule dark and/or sweet juices will build up on the coil faster than clear and/or unsweet juice. The amount of flavoring can also contribute which imo most vendors are using way too much of the total percentage for flavoring.

If you’re interested then I would highly suggest reading up and getting into diy, that way you can control the ingredients and customize a mix to what you want, plus it can be cheaper once you discover a few recipes you like. If you’re not interested in diy then look for juices that are clear or light in color with no or little sweetener added. VG and PG have a subtle sweetness of their own and I never add sweetener to my mixes anymore. I can't help with a specific vendors juice as I haven't bought any pre-maid in years but I'm sure others can.

Also don’t knock flavorless so quick. It might not be for everyone but I keep a bottle of 50/50 PG/VG on hand just for vaping when I’m in the mood. It’s got a mild flavor and sweetness of it’s own and as others have said does remind me of a mild tobacco.

That's all good advice. I'm going you try cutting the juice, but I'm becoming interested in diy. The trouble with trying to find a commercial juice is that often the picture is of the flavor (a peach for a peach juice), and you don't know how clear it is until you get it. Also, most vendors don't list ingredients either. It's a very expensive process of trail and error.
