the surefire king that came out today. I want a lighter spring in it. I tried to unscrew it with my hands. wouldn't budge. I do not want to damage it. a socket with tape on it? how will I hold the recessed button? I did not bother emailing them after what I have read. otherwise I love this thing.

edit: either I already scratched the inside of the switch with just my finger nails or it came that way. I didn't look first. brass is soft. taking a wrench to this may not be a good idea. certainly not a needle nose pliers. I am guessing someone knows how to do this. it has the upgraded silver contacts which are even softer. I don't know about putting it in the freezer either. may crack. turns out my finger nails did not scratch it. they cranked it on with a tool and scratched. there are other scratches too. I guess good luck getting this off.

I got it apart. it has to be on very tight to make the button recessed.

.....retracted what I had said. I think I was being to critical. it is fine. typical of brushed brass. it very quickly gets dirty and scratched. it is a soft metal. I think that is more fair to say than to insult it. overall if one is not a nitpicker it is well made. I got upset for no reason at all. the button is very easy and smooth. which is what attracted me to it in the first place. scratches come off with mothers mag and scotchbrite to restore the brushed finish of course. so at least the inside of the switch no one sees is now fine.
