Ok, so I'm about to make the jump. After reading a bunch of reviews, it sounds like the Joye 510 is the option for me.

I've got a friend who's thinking about making the jump, but the Blu is what seems to appeal to her because it seems like the best deal for the money. The Blu starter kit comes with the PCC, and 25 carts (did I get that lingo right?) in addition to chargers and hardware-- all for $60.

But in reading through threads here, and comments elsewhere, the Blu seems to have a bad reputation. I looked through the review section, though, and there doesn't seem to be any official reviews of the Blu. I'm trying to convince her that the Blu, while cheaper, is probably not a good place to start. A full review would help out with that-- anyone know where to find one?

Well, what I did was look at the Blu forums hosted here:

Blu Electronic Cigarettes - E-Cigarette Forum

Then saw everyone talking about 510 and how much better it was. I found a few reviews there on that link.

I found that with some work, the Blu could be a really good ecig. I personally wanted an ecig that was already good, but good be made better with a few simple mods.

But then again, it's all about what a person wants. All ecigs have their strengths and weaknesses.

Has your friend looked through any of the reviews here? That's what helped me cancel my order with Blu and put an order in for my Joye 510 at cignot.com. Pricewise, you get pretty much the same deal as Blu with cignot, except you don't get all those carts. But from what I read, the Blu carts don't last very long at all. I saw people saying they lasted for about maybe 3-8 cigs and even the Blu website says they last about 7 cigs.

If you have made your choice for the 510 then go here they have an amazing $35 deal on genuine Joye 510 starter kits.

Cignot your Midwest Electronic Cigarette store.

As far as the blu goes I really don't know, the starter I tried first was similar to it but not the exact one.

There may be more to this than performance though. I have been vetoed on various purchases by the GF because looks and style come into play sometimes instead of my main concern which most of the time is functionality.

Sometimes the only way to learn is by experience. I learned from a bad one (Njoy).

That's the first ecig I tried awhile ago. I switched back to analogs after I used up all the carts...most of which were dried up from what I read here about bad carts.

I got mine from SmartFixx though.

If she wants either the black or white, which are the only choices with the Blu... or she could get the Copper....

MyFreedomSmokes has the PCC for 19.17, the starter kit for 41.92, and 60ml of juice for $26.00. (coupon code smoke).

I know part of her thing is that she'd get a week's worth of the juice with it for free essentially -- but 1) she'll be limited to those five flavors 2) if she's a pack a day smoker that's $25 a week she'll be spending on cartridges. Most people go through 2-3ml of juice a day, and if she got 60ml of juice that would be $26 from MyFreedomSmokes -- at a high smoking level she'll maybe go through that 60ml bottle in 20 days. If she got enough cartridges to last her three weeks, she'd be spending $110 for what she could get for $93.04 with shipping.

[Edit to add: this isn't really a review per se, but if you can't find a real review for the Blu, this is a money argument, which if that's what is motivating her to try the Blu....]

Don't know about blu but have you looked at the everything you wanted to kow about vaping 1 through 6 at the beginnig of this section? I may not have the name right but it's close. good luck.

I bought the Blu kit while I was awaiting my VaporKing. I think it gets the job done, but personally, I'm on a huge manual battery kick. I think you could sell that feature alone. It won't turn on accidentally while you're walking outside. No priming the atomizer. There are so many options beyond the Blu kit. I'm a VK/808D-1 fan myself, but there are options aplenty.

When I ordered mine, I ordered a black one and got told they had a 3 week minimum of a wait for the black ones....I am actually very glad I canceled my order after doing more research on ecigs here.

When you ordered your Blu? Oh yuck.

I've only looked at the 510s, because the consensus seemed to be they were the best beginner model and I thought the idea of a manual battery was good.

I didn't order my gear from Cignot or MFS (although I would have from MFS if I'd known about the coupon when I got too impatient and ordered), I got my stuff from another vendor. With shipping it was $85 for the PCC, my copper starter kit, and 10 empty cartridges, then I got the MFS sampler pack separately.

When I found the coupon I was kicking myself and tried to cancel the order from the other place, but it was already too late. Sniff. It at least got in the mail, priority mail shipping, on Monday when I ordered on Sunday... they weren't an approved vendor on here and my order number was 73, so we'll see how their stuff is. I hope it's not a knockoff, but at least I payed with Paypal if it is....

I started out with Blu cigs..after a 6 week wait for delivery. Had a bad battery right from the get go and an atty that died in 2 days.

After numerous calls and emails over the next month, I'm still waiting for a refund and/or replacement.

That was in August.

Personally, I don't care if they are the best e-cig on the market (which they aren't by a long shot)... their lack of customer service alone is enough to make me look elsewhere.

Yes I did order one at first. I was enamored by the pretty PCC and the pretty website and how could such a bad product have such pretty things.

Then I realized that I can make a pretty website without having ANY kind of product to offer.

And I found this forum...so after that...I canceled my Blu order and went with the Joye 510 from Cignot. Awesome people!

One thing I have learned so far is = Go with what you feel is the best for yourself. Not the hype. I got the Volcano (Same model as the Blu, better company.) And I personally love it. Comparing it to my friends 510, I would rather have good taste then scorched taste. (Thats just my own opinion. I'm not a 'huge throat hit' kinda guy)

L88B (Blu/Volcano) can be a bit tough to get going, but when you give it time and learn how to use it right... It can be just as good, (if not better imo) then the 510. Don't sway someone away from what they think would be good for them unless you KNOW it would not be good for them *coughsmokeeverywherecough*etc etc.

I do, however, suggest if she does end up going for a L88B to go for a Volcano instead. The company does not mess around when it comes to satisfaction.
