Where men are men and sheep are nervous
Don't worry i only charge a 20% Royalty for my ideas. :p LOL
Seriously if the idea help convert one smoker to vaping and gets the word out about vaping I consider that a great payment to all of us vapers. I am thinking about using the idea for local farmers market\flee markets in my area.

Wow, a ton of great ideas. Big thanks to everyone.

VOLT - tried to find some data on this item, it looks like it might have a 510 threading from the pics. But then I found a few reviews and they mentioned it is comparable to "other KR808" kits. So I'll need to dig deeper into the Volt for real answers.

COFFEE/INTERNET CAFE - Emailed a buddy on this one who knows about coffee brands, equipment, etc. Said he'll call me later with all the poop but in short sounds very doable from his notes.

IGO - Another puzzle about threading. Looks like 510 compatible but need the hard data so I contacted the manufacturer to see what the real story is on this one. Does look promising though, the batter comes in 3 lengths at 3 different mAh, just don't know the operation voltage.

We'll keep plugging away until we get the kinks worked out. Thanks again everyone.

So let's see, if we can get a few thousand people to all send Shannon65 a dollar, her store could be open in no time.

The Volt is definitely a KR808D-1...it's one of the kits I looked at before deciding on the G6 from Halo.

Depending on the size of a store front you could potentially offer a couple of different seating areas...one with little cafe tables and another with a livingroom type vibe. For a grand opening you could have a bunch of the disposables that you could offer for free to people who want to try it out (while supplies last, of course). This would get a bunch of people to come in who might not otherwise. And we all know that once people give vaping a try they usually discover how easily they could make the transition. Instant customer base. :)

lol about sending me money...all I need is an investor, hahahaha!

I had thought about that too...only problem is I'm in Maine...and the flea/farmer market season here is woefully short. :) Another option for someone would be a mall kiosk. The only problem with that is it can lead to hate and discontent from people walking by if there is a cloud of vapor, lol.

Have started the dirty deed of gathering specs into a spreadsheet . . .

Whew, lots of work for each tiny bit of info. But I'll get there eventually.

Good tip Jaybo. I know they made 3 or 4 changes during the last revision of the Revolution. We had ordered a couple for testing after trying one the other day. Just found out the shipment is delayed though, bummer. I'd really rather not offer a starter for a bottom feeder. Definitely will check out the REO too.

Thanks

Have tons of info back from suppliers and product testers too.

Looks like the Riva 510 and then another with a bigger battery will be the way to go, all with 510 threading. So we'll end up with a good starting lineup, mostly of 510 compatible products. We'll still keep the 808D-1 mini line, just offer some cartos that are upgrades for it too.

Of course, we'll have parts and accessories. Now on to eLiquid.

Kind of like a roller coaster, weeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention one thing about accessories. Most of the people helping me test products don't seem all that interested in things like carrying cases and fancy holders. So we'll stock a few just in case but won't go to heavy on them.

We do want to some of the cases with charging batteries built-in though (PCC), those are pretty cool.

Organic. It's Austin. Juice line has to include organic offering. Doesn't have to be the bulk of your stock. Yes, it will cost you more - in effort and inventory. (Expectation of buyers seeking organic anything is default higher base price.) Carrying a small line of organic juice will allow you to advertise organic option which will draw Austinites who might otherwise dismiss vaping as an option. Biggest exposure in Austin is the mall kiosk folks, which has put many off the vaping concept. Point being, organic offering will get Austinites in the door - even though they'll probably end up purchasing a standard juice mix. Human nature.

Glad you liked the "airstream" idea and have put a pin in it.

Hey, Tx Magic.

Thanks for the suggestion. Talked to a few people over the weekend and hashed out some ideas and one of them turns out to be along the same lines as yours. Different product but same general idea.

Amazing what happens when ideas start floating around. It's really nice to get help from people a whole lot smarter than me.:toast:

Talked with some more bar owners and also one gal who supplies bars and restaurants. A common denominator is space, the kits take up too much space. They preferred a disposable, or better yet a cheap rechargeable, to keep costs down. Turns out I just might have the right item, a scaled down version of the kit.

Also seems to make sense to offer this option to all customers since it would provide a cheap entry into ecigs no matter where I sell them. Customers can then step up to a kit if they want, batteries and cartos are the same.

I like it a lot.

Why not keep both 510 and 808 in stock. Alot of people will come from one "School" or the other. Keep adapters on hand for sale, and everything is essentially compatible. There are small 510 disposables that I have tried, look a pack of smokes, and most vendors sell them for 10$. They are definately a decent quality and are essentially just a 510 mini-kit without a battery guarantee. Great for "on the fence"-ers.

If you haven't done so, please check out SmokTech 510's. I absolutely love their batteries. They have outperformed every battery I have tried so far. As far as Auto's, they have the most accurate switch of any that I have tried, including Joye.

I would also throw in that carrying the Joye eGo/eGo-T next to whatever competitor "fat batt" would be nice, as people that start to do research are going to run into it and most likely come asking.

Howdy MASTER0FDAMPF, thanks for the input.

I haven't tried the SmokTech 510 batteries yet, at least not that I know of. Makes your head spin trying to sort out who's selling what with all the rebranding and all. Every time I think I have it sorted out a little surprise comes sneaking up on me.

Love your idea about offering two basic lines, 510 series and 808 series. After all the product testing and all the research it surely seems that's the way to go. I've been using a handful of friends as guinea pigs to help me test and they're telling me the same thing. Funny thing though, never really though about having adapters so people can mix and match. Don't know why, my brain sometimes gets locked in one direction.

The whole process is painfully slow and it's time to get this ball rolling.

Been checking into the mobile vending trailor idea and am discovering Austin has more than it's fair share of rules and regulations about this. Trouble is, some rules pertain only to food vendors but the trick is you can't always tell which rules those are. Some rules are obviously for food only, of course, but others fall into a grey area.

So it appears I can buy a crate of oranges, thow out the oranges, and turn the crate over and start selling anywhere and be fine. For this I don't need a license, any special training or even a permit. If I'm homeless, the city will even help me turn over the crate.

Anybody want to buy a house?
