Hi All,

My apologies if this is covered in other threads. I've been scouring the net to try and get help and am running out of time surviving on a nicorette inhalator thing at the moment.

background:

i bought a gamucci micro thing ages ago (couple of years i reckon) then couldnt buy replacement batteries so that died quickly when i dropped it and it stopped holding charge... then i bought a different one from a chemist (not sure which) and a similar situation occurred.

the most recent time ive tried this i spent about £200 on loads of replacement batteries and chargers/atomisers etc from smartsmoker and its been fine but for one issue, their cartridge things appear different from all the other ones ive used and seem to run out really quickly. theyre tiny too.

what i really want to do is find a way of buying the premixed e-liquid stuff and cartridges that i can use to refill that will fit the e-cigarette thing i have so that i dont have to outlay another £200 on peripheral items for a new e-cigarette device.

is this possible or am in going to have to keep buying hundreds of these little cartridges/bin the e-cigarette im using and start over again?

im using this to stay off the cigarettes and its costing me more than cigarettes so it's difficult to take when the write ups all say "save 80%"

the forum wont let me link to the one i bought, but it's on the smartsmoker site and i bought the starter kit, i think theyre all the same on there.

if i cant customise this e-cigarette and use a longer lasting/cheaper alternative to the little carts, can i buy atomisers from elsewhere which will fit my batteries, so that i can keep using the batteries and chargers at least and then buy better refills?

anyhow, thanks for reading (if you did) and any advice is greatly appreciated.

Is this the kit you bought?

LINK REMOVED TO ENABLE QUOTE

If so, it looks like one of the Super-mini's . Maybe an RN4081 or DSE301 & i believe that most of those model parts are interchangeable. Hope someone else can confirm this for you.

BTW, you can refill the cartridges that you already have with any e-liquid.

Thank you!

Actually i had a look in the massive 6 part guide thread thing and checked all the pictures and i think this one is a DSE 108 - the picture looks identical anyway..

I have ordered some liguid stuff from somewhere and will try refilling some cart things then (if i have any ive not thrown out!) but the thing is the actual plastic cover bit is empty (no cotton-wooly stuff) and then there is this tiny (perhaps 7mm long) little cap thing with the wool and liquid in that you balance on the atomiser bit, this is different than all the other ones ive had where the main plastic cover bit has this wool business built in, and lots more of it!! ergo the old ones i had seemed to last much longer for a cartridge (would outlast the batteries, whereas this one doesnt - even though the batteries last the same time) so I guess what im asking is can i put one of the bigger cover-and-cartridge in one cartridges on this and it still work or do i have to get these tiny 7mm things from smart smoker only and refil them when they run out?

i hope that makes sense to someone lol

when can i start to post links? this would be a lot easier with the aid of links tbf.

I can't remember if it's 10 or 15 posts you need to make before you can post links.

The first e-cig I bought over 18 months ago was an RN4081 (haven't used it in over a year though) & it sounds like the cart is the same as you are describing.

Piccie of my RN4081 - I think the cartridges are slightly different these days.

If that is the same as yours, then their is a sub forum on here dedicated to that model.

RN 4081 *Super Mini* - e-cigarette-forum.com • The place for electronic cigarette reviews, news and chat

edit - meant to add, that I don't think there are any larger cartridges that fit.

Thanks Chrissy,

Yeah it looks like that - it has the scrolly "Mini Cigarette" writing on it though which is what i noticed on the other one in the pics - do lots of them have that writing then?

i will check out that sub forum.

another quick one then - am i best off in your opinion dumping this and buying a different setup? i really need to stay off the cigarettes and im prepared to spend the money if its worth it. (only bummer for me is my normal cigarettes only cost me £6 for 200 so this actually costs me loads more :-x

It's confusing that it has "mini cigarette" on it as that is what is usually known as the DSE901.

I really don't think you need to dump it. Lots of people love the super-mini - the RN4081 atomisers tend to keep going forever :). You can find parts for it a lot cheaper than where you have been buying them from.

Lol where on earth where you buying 200 real cigs for only £6 ?

?

Syria, Jordan etc - duty free shops - wish i couldnt get cigarettes so cheap! still in this incarnation of e-cigarette useage im 11 days in with only 1 cigarette (because ive run out of cartridges ) and am desperately trying to survive on a nicorette inhalator (dunno if u get them in the states, theyre horrendous) its nearly christmas too so i bet i get nothing in the post till January now :(

ive ordered loads of carts for the thing i have from smart smoker too now and ill drain them then refill them with the liquid stuff when i get that!

thanks for your help - this is literally the only thing thats come close to getting me off the cigarettes in the last 15 years its just so frustrating that it all has to be bought in bulk in advance on the internet...

I may have confused you with my second photo as that was just to show you the difference between the mini DSE901 & the super mini that you have. I'm fairly certain there aren't any larger carts for the super mini.

There are a lot of good sellers in the UK you can buy spares from for the RN4081.

Have a look at e-cigs.co.uk

Super Range : E-Cigs.co.uk, Online Store

Or Totally Wicked.
E-Smoking Accessories - Super 10cm / Totally Wicked e-Liquid / electronic cigarette eliquid nicotine fluid products

If you would like to make sure that the carts do fit your e-cig, I've a couple of old unopened RN4081 cartridges I'd be more than happy to send to you. PM me if you would like them.

cheers chrissie, i think ill just take a punt on it for the sake of expedience but thats a sweet offer thanks.

this nicorette inhalator thing is killing me tbf sooner i can "vape" again the better! theres a crappy version of a starter kit for about £50 in a chemist near my mothers and thats literally the only way to get any cartridges that i know of without buying on the internet, i am sorely tempted to go there at lunch tomorrow and buy one just to have the 5 free cartridges of e-cigarette instead of this sodding inhalator thing while i wait for my deliveries... at least this proves that the e-cigs work miles better than any other nicotine replacement things tho!

Yes that is proof indeed :D

Got a couple of regular posters in my little friendly e-cig forum (click on the link in my sig ) that have been using the super-mini for over a year & still love it. They are too shy to post on here but if you come & join us I'm sure they will help you with loads of tips :)

Hi guys sorry to bring up and old thread, im new here, just wanted some reassurance. Picking an ecig seems to be a minefield, i had just about made up my mind to go for a super mini from e-cigs.co.uk, but Chrissie, you almost imply that while a couple of regular posters are very happy with theirs, that others are not, is there a reason why or a reason not to go for the mini/rn4081 style?

Thanks

Hello d_hero. just a quick reply as I'm about to log off for the evening.

The first e-cig I bought was a Super-mini RN4081 & 18 months ago when I bought it, it seemed quite a popular choice at the time. I still think it is a good e-cig & the atomisers seem to keep going for ever. However, I prefer the draw & the extra vape that you get from a mini DSE901. On the other hand, (just to confuse you further) many others prefer yet another model -510.

The one thing I can tell you for certain though, is that e-cigs.co.uk is a very good seller:)

Sorry I've most likely not been very helpful but IMHO there are pros & cons between all the different models.
