Help with a Riva

Ok, I have an eGo, and I'm trying to help my friend who just picked this (above) up .... trying to figure out what parts will go with it, etc. Does it take standard 510 parts? I'm a little confused because it looks like a standard eGo but better because it's a Riva.

The eGo and Riva are basically the same thing just different brands. Both are 510 threaded so what works with one will also work with the other, except maybe the cones (?). You'll get some people that swear by the Riva, others say the eGo is better. So it amounts to six of one, half dozen of the other. Personally I'd just go by price and customer service of the vendor you choose.

edit: Sorry, I didn't see that it was a 901 you're looking at. The standard Riva is 510, what you've linked takes 901 atty's or 808 carto's.

Uses 901. To use 510 stuff you need to get an adapter (or a 510 riva)

I have the Riva 901. W/O an adaptor it will also take the 808 cartos, so a little more versality there. I have never used the Ego, so can't compare. I do like the Riva, but with an 808 carto. Either the Ego or the Riva would be a good choice.

With a Riva 901 you will need an adapter to use 510 or KR808D-1 cartridges. The KR8s will screw on but no air will flow through it. It requires either an adapter or air vents have to be cut in the outer ring of the battery connection to permit air in.

Adapters are cheap, around $3, and sold at most hardware retailers.
