Today is my 1st day using the VK and I have to say I LOVE IT! I do however have a few questions. 1st, does anyone know what cartomizer flavor is the closest to marlboro reds? I got the Cowboys and it seems pretty close but wasn't sure if this was the one or if there is another. Also, how do I know when to change the cartomizer? I don't want to waste any of it. I read somewhere that the smoke would be gone when it was time to change it. Just want to make sure I am using it to the fullest. Thank you so much in advance!!!

There really isn't a way to replicate the flavor of burning leaves and paper with an e-juice. If you post some of the basic flavors that you like people can be of more help. A lot of people like the wowboy from V4L and it's a tobacco flavor. I found that I like tea flavors the best especially chai and earl gray. V4L doesn't carry them though. There are lots of great juice vendors.

Right before the carto is empty you will get lots of vapor without much flavor. That is the time to top off the carto (before it burns). You can refill them a bunch of times until the flavor degenerates and then either throw them out or clean them. Do a You tube search for cleaning cartomizers and refilling cartomizers. Also check out MistressNomads stickies at the top of the New Members page. Your V4L is a KR808D-1 battery and other brands of cartos made for that size battery will fit. I have had very good luck with V4L cartos though.

Hiya cgwife and welcome to ECF. That question, "What flavor is closest to Marlboro Reds?" has been asked, hmmm, prolly a million times on this forum. The answer is: Wait for it.................There isn't one.

Those cartomizers are refillable tho. If you want a tobacco flavor juice, try the Maxboro from Freedomsmokeusa, or their RY4, or perhaps 555. There are so many different tobacco flavors out there and none of them taste like a regular cigarette. Which is not really a bad thing.

You will know when to change the cartomizer when you start to get a slight "off" taste. Once again, you can refill them several times if you order some E-liquid. But if you wait too long, its possible to burn out the carto or the filling may take on a slight burnt taste permanently.

Hope this helps some.

Hi, cigwife! Don't throw your cartomizers away because they can be refilled once you've vaped the juice out them. You'll know when this happens because you'll get a kind of burned smell and taste when you take a drag. Believe me, you won't mistake it. You can refill them several times before they just give out and become useless, and then you throw them away. When a cartomizer is getting ready for the trash can, the vapor can become inconsistent, the burn smell/taste still happens even after a fresh refill, or they just stop working altogether.

Oh, you'll want to buy more juice ASAP because those cartos probably won't last long. Save yourself some time, money and frustration by buying several 5ml bottles with different flavors so you can find out what you like.

Both of you did help tremendoulsy.....but I am still a little confused on one thing. I purchased Cowboy Cartomizers, they are already "flavored".......I didn't buy any juice? They came 5 in a pack and I thought once each one was done I just threw them away and put another one on????

You can do it that way but I'm pretty sure it's way more expensive than refilling. From the few prefilled flavors I've tried there also not as good. I think pretty much everyone on here buys juice and refills. If you really don't wanna do it that way you can keep buying pre filled ones but I think the price would be a bit crazy after a while.
