I had a 4081 when I first started. The atomizers are fine, but the rest of the stuff, batteries, cart's and cartomizers vary in quality a lot. I had the same problem with mine and ended up plugging one of the 2 holes to get more vapor and throat hit. Just put your thumb or finger over one of them and take a long slow draw and see if it helps. If it does just plug one hole permanently. I know you probably don't want to hear it, but the best solution in my opinion is to order a different unit, either a 510 or KR808. They're good solid performers and you'll be happier in the long run. That's my 2 cents anyway.

Lurking around on this board, and some other ones, I decided I didn't want to use an atomizer, so I found the Njoy, that uses cartomizers, at a local smoke shop, and it was cheaper there than online. I've asked Santa for an Ego, so the Njoy may become the backup.

Are you talking about the air holes where the carto screws onto the battery?

Yes, there were 2 air passage holes where the cartomizer touches the battery. Try plugging one of them. Some may have 4 holes, if so plug more of them. Just put your thumb or finger over it and take a long slow drag. That's what worked for me anyway.
