So I just opened my new high power 801 from LiteCigUsa. I've only used a 510 regular and eGo before this, and the atomizer/cart has me a little stumped. The carts were blank, so I filled them up with some new French Toast juice and just restuffed them with the polyfill. I blew out the atty, but I didn't seem to have any primer come out. Put everything together and vape. Blechh - burnt atty taste. I unstuff, blow out the atty some more, try the cart with fluval, and give it another go. Still blecchy. I've been puffing for about 5 min. and I can't taste my French Toast, only this weird atty. I can tell the vape is much warmer due to the higher battery, which may be lovely if it wasn't for the taste. Is there something I'm missing? I have to admit these atties confused me. The came in these weird covers; surely I'm not supposed to use them in some way? Sorry for the noobness; I'm stumped.

I've found my 801 attys take a few days to season up. They take a fair amount more juice on the bridge than the 510 before you start to get the full taste/vape of the juice. Whenever I've gotten the burnt taste, it's usually a sign of low on juice or time for new poly. Since your poly is already new, I'd make sure you are really getting it soaked with juice.

Add a few, last drops on the top of the cart along with 2-3 on the bridge and then see if you get the juice flow going. Over time, you should be able to get a nice steady flow until the cart is dry.

But be aware that you can flood these. It usually happens to me when I put it down for a long period of time shortly after refilling. Then all that great juice just flow down into the cup and I have to blow it out and "start over"

Good luck.

Ah, well you may need to pack the Fluval in a bit tighter. There is a lot more room in the 801 cart and if you don't get a good plug going, you'll flood.

I've actually moved up to 50/50 PG/VG juice to try and help flow control and it seems to be working much better but I do flood out 1 or 2 times a day.

Just blow it all out, fill the cart 1/2 way, stuff in a bit more/thicker Fluval and top it off - try that.

EDIT: I use fish tank filter material for my carts. A bit more dense - to the point where you can actually stop the flow which is the reverse of your issue.

Sorry it's not working for you.
I've used mine on 5v passthru and JStick/Bartleby which run on usb around 4.2v consistently and have had no problems.
If you have another atty and some diff juice, I'd try it at least a bit before throwing in the towel :D

Perhaps just try some direct dripping with an empty cart and see if that helps you get the feel for it.

Thanks boxer, I am using a different cart. And thanks as well nubee for all your help. I've decided to step away from it a bit. I'll try the other atty maybe later tonight or tomorrow. Back to the eGo for a bit. (You know how it is when you get so frustrated with something - it bleeds over onto everything else.) I'm actually feeling a bit ill physically right now, so I think it's time to lay off. But I do appreciate all your help.
