Hey guys, I'm new to the forum. I quit smoking 2 weeks ago and now smoke E-cigs. I've tried a lot of different ones over the years. I smoke Logic platinum menthol. They say each cartridge is like 2 packs of cigarettes. I smoked a pack of cigarettes a day for 16 years. I seem to blow right through the cartridges. I'm constantly smoking my e cig. Will this pass? anyways to change the habit? Anyone ever been through this? Thanks in advance guys!

The 'x# of packs per cartridge' is generally nowhere near accurate.

I would recommend upgrading to a decent refillable starter clearomizer set-up such as an EGO/EVOD or EGO/CEx etc and some bottles of juices.

With these systems you will be able to determine your actual juice usage by ML instead of overpriced refill cartridges.

The average ECF'r seems to used between 1-4ML's a day, and ive seen people say as high as 10-20ml's a day.

They are straight up using manipulative marketing statements to say it is 'equivalent' to 2 packs of cigarettes. How are they defining this? By nicotine amount, vapor/smoke volume, number of inhales? I commonly hear people saying the average cigarette delivers ~1mg of nicotine to the smoker.

You gotta get yourself buying straight up bottles of juice instead of the pre-filled cartridges. Then based on how often you feel it necessary to vape you will settle into your nicotine strength of e-juice in mg/ml.

I chain vape and like 6-12 mg/ml. My chain vaping is also usually on a 'genesis' style device with a ss-wick and a 28 gauge micro coil.

While some other folks I know use a dripper and only take 1-2 vape hits once an hour or so. They seem to prefer stronger juice around 24 mg/ml.

As others have said you'll use it a lot more than smoking because... well because you can.

And as others have said with the store ones whether Blu, V2, Logic, Green etc... the cartos are NO WHERE NEAR what they say they are. I used all of the ones listed and none of them lasted long. They want you to buy cartos remember? :)

Vape and vape some more. It's an adjustment period. And as has already been said do some research and then upgrade as time/cash allows.

Just drop the store bought cigalikes altogether and get yourself a halfway decent tank like a Kanger protank mini or an evod and get some juice. You're wasting your money with cigalikes. You can get a very basic evod starter kit for $15 from vape dojo (it's called the katani kit I think), and you can spend a few bucks with them for some juice. For me about 2 to 3 ml I think would "equal" (if you can even compare the two) to a pack of cigarettes, so if you're spending say $7 on 15 ml of juice you'll be getting anywhere from 5 to 7 packs equivalent, and that's the real deal, not just some words on a package.

(and if you think about my math, 2 - 3 ml of juice would never fit into one of those cigalikes so how in the world would they ever equal that?)

Electronic Cigarette | E cigarette | Best Ecigs | Panda ecigs has been pretty decent for me. I usually shop elsewhere, but it's great for a one stop shop. upgrade to an eGo type battery and tank setup, buy some e-juice and use that while you decide what direction you eventually want to go. The world of vaping is large (and can be expensive), but using cig-a-likes is the most expensive route to go over the long term.

I was using at least two cartridges a day on the cig-a-likes (did you know that they can be refilled and reused?) before I upgraded.

Well IME the average cig alike tank holds a solid .8ml - 1ml. So if its 24 mg/ml and your saying 1 cig = 1 mg of nicotine you could say its equivalent to a pack of cigarettes... Without lying... But it is far stretch from reality.

If you really want to have a decent device that is cig-alike sized and shaped I think your best bet is the eroll type of setup. The tanks are refillable holding .7 ml of juice... The atomizers with the little spike work pretty darn good, possible to rebuild (pretty much same as ego-c/t or eroll), comes with an awesome case charger... It won't really compare with a genesis style hybrid, a clearomizer, or any fancy mod though.

For the ml to pack comparison... I really feel there are too many variables at play for it to be defined outside of the individual. I used to smoke ~a pack a day on average. For the first year after switching over I averaged ~8 ml/day at around 25 mg/ml. When I would go camping/fishing/out drinking/long drives I would need ~2 packs a day. I have old backpacking trips planned with 1.5 packs/day over 14 days as a space compromise with food and clothing limitations... Now I plan around 10 ml/day and one 18650/day for such events of personal indulgence around 12mg/ml. My average daily intake has settled somewhere around 5 ml/day around 12 mg/ml.

The point being that I strongly feel the devices that push pre-filled cartridges in limited strengths / flavors / pg/vg ratios are very detrimental to ones e-cig experience. Not only will it save you a fortune but it will also also you to take control and personalize your nicotine intake.
