Hey guys I have an ego twist and want some gear to drip but dont know what I need because i've never dripped before. I looked into the Empire mods stuff and that looks promising. They have the 510 LR 1.8 bridgeless attys with the Empire Ego drip Shield and that looks to be around the neighborhood of what I need but what are some other options? I dont want to deal with the REBUILDABLE attys I just want something simple and long lasting. I primarily use carto tanks so I dont need something that I'm going to need to rely on all day I just want to be able to drip at home from time to time mainly to just sample juices easier. Thanks

Hi - I use the 510 LR attys that came with my original eGo kit. I don't use a drip shield though, I started dripping before I knew such a thing existed (I just put on my glasses). While I use the 510s, I prefer an LR306 with a Cannon drip tip. With or without bridge/wick is a personal choice. Cheers!

The specs on the 510 LR at Empire said not to use them over 3.7 volts. Why do you need to keep the voltage so low? Is it because there is no filler material and the juice is directly in the coil? What will happen if you go over that? Will it just over heat and burn out leaving the atty useless?

Ohms law. High voltage + low resistance = high amperage. An ego battery handles about 2.2 amps which is about the equivalent of 4v / 1.8 ohms, any more could damage the battery. You can push the atty on a mod with a higher rated battery and switch but it will shorten the atty's life.

Right. You could just get the 1.8, on a twist you can increase the voltage a bit and achieve the same thing as using a 1.5ohm atty. Check out an ohms law calculator on google, plug in your volts (power from battery) and resistance (atty ohms), hit calculate and it will tell you how many amps and watts that equals.
