Been vaping on and off for a year. Just picked up an ego one 2200mah kit and a subtank nano to as a backup tank. Currently vaping Black Notes lineup. The problem I'm having is this.

In a Joyetech eroll, 2 evod 1's on ego batts, and 2 evod 2's on other ego batts...all fixed voltage ego's. My liquid tastes great, smokey bold flavor with a sweet undertone. Tastes identical in all of those clearos. However the same juice in the ego one tastes sour. No smokiness no sweetness, just sour. That's on the 1ohm coil, the .5 is out of the question it's just too hot, and 12mg nic, but i did try it and the same issue. I thought it might be the fact that evod 2 is a 1.5ohm coil so extra power might change the flavor even though I doubted it. So I loaded the subtank nano up with the 1.2 ohm coil and the same exact taste...sour then bitter, it's wicking well, hit seems wet, not dry, just tastes completely different than in the evods. I doubted 1.5 ohms in evod2 to 1.2 in a fixed voltage device but I'm deferring to the good folks here who have forgot more than I could probably learn for help. I even thought that maybe ego batts being 3.7 or so and I think the ego one hits at 4.2 at start could be overcooking and causing the taste diff. But I even ran it all the way down which I think it cuts off at 3.4 and taste never changed.

Sorry so long just trying to be thorough. Is the evod 1 and 2's flavor just that good, or am I missing something? I thought for sure the occ's from the subtank would give great flavor. I have even tried replacement 1ohm heads in the Joyetech tank and still no luck.
I love the ego ones form, vapor output is amazing, and battery lasts 2-3 days before needing charged. But if I can't get it to match the flavor of a 7 dollar evod on a 12 dollar battery it's just kind of absurd. Please tell me any thoughts as to a cause or hopefully something I'm overlooking that could be a fix. I am order some of the clr heads that come with the organic cotton wicks but the subtank has that also and it's the same so I dunno?
Much appreciated!!!

The reason you are getting so much more vapor out of the eGo One, as compared to the EVOD, is the vape is taking more power (watts). That's where the vapor comes from, watts on the coil. Yes, this can and often does change the vapor flavor, sometimes overpowering it, sometimes burning it. In addition, given the greater vapor production, you are getting more nicotine than you are used to from the EVOD since you didn't move to a lower nic juice to compensate, and nicotine is very bitter. The problem is, the eGo One is not power adjustable; there's no way to turn it down. And if there were, you'd lose the vapor production you like. Try a bottle of 6mg juice, or get some 0 nic in the same flavor and dilute it down yourself. If that doesn't work, you may have simply found a juice you like that doesn't respond well to higher power vaping. This isn't uncommon; I adjust the power on my rigs to suit the juice I'm vaping.

My personal thoughts on this? I'd say try some different juice. I remember some juices in my evods tasting wonderful (mango tobacco, peach tobacco, etc) and then found my subtanks. They tasted way too harsh and pretty terrible. I swapped to higher vg, lower nic and had much better luck. Nothing close to the same juice I started out with. That being said, letting tobacco flavors steep really really helps a lot.

Much appreciated! Definitely understand the response and now I feel dumb for leaving it out. I use 12 nic in the evods and ordered 6 nic specifically for the ego one bc I thought it would hit harder. And it does as far as I feel the nic sooner but both the 12 and 6 give same results. 12 nic in the ego one wasn't too harsh as it's a 50/50. But even the 6nic tastes so amazing and complex in the evods and just straight rank in the subtank and egoone tank. I even got a sample of the same juice in 3mg and that still didnt change it. I have a few other juices on hand that I pulled out of my rotation bc of AP and diacetyl, that's why I was sampling black notes lineup. I'll run a few ml's of those as a control just wanted to see if there was some magic sorcery at work or if I was missing something.

Hard to accurately say. Different habits, nic level, which coil, etc. With the 1ohm coil 9mg nic I'll go through maybe 5 mils a day +/-. Dropping down to 6nic and that number goes up as I'm using it more. But I pretty much vape the way I smoked. 5 to 10 minutes straight and in about 2 hours repeat. It's also really hard to say bc you have to fill the tank once it's a little less than half empty or mine will flood and leak. So it's more of a constant top off instead of refill.
