I received my 18650 (3000mAh) batteries today. When inserted into the cup I get nothing. It may be because there's not enough "tension" (pressure) against the button unit. Gee, I'm not explaining this too well. I tried "stretching the coil thingy. Didn't help much. Is it safe to insert a washer (metal) into the bottom of the cup or will I blow myself up doing that? :D

Yes, you can do that Blu,

or as many do ---

use a few of those little magnetic spacers ----

or extend your spring --

try the last first--- hahah

My 18650 battery I received did not work ether the problem was on the + end the shrink wrap and insulator was higher then the button. Stretching your spring will not fix it you need to add a magnet spacer or a dap of solder on the + end or try reversing the battery.

yes, I had this problem with some of the little battys for the 801 and 510 passthru when they have the battery box onboard..

but as you say a magnetic spacer does the trick there -

I stretched that sucker with a pair of plyers and now it works great! I got lucky! :) Oooh, the plumes of vapor! Can't wait to see how long this bat lasts.

and yes, for my 18650 one of the cups needed the spring stretched when I used the 18650 2400mah battys, but for the 300mah red ones it was ok.

I just ordered the extended cup with the 18650 battery along with some 16340 batteries for HV vaping. I hope this problem doesn't happen to me.

Still waiting on the order, I'll recieve it next week.

it is caused by a minor difference in the size of the battery,

sometimes only 1 or 2 mls,
but it is known to be a battery differential, in the manufacture.

usually any difference is easily solved by stretching the spring inside the battery cup to make up the small difference,

but some people also use those little magnetic spacers to take up the difference,
either method works well,
and is no problem at all

this difference in battery sizes has been reported by many
people on all different forums, with all different mods.
It is a well known thing, and easily overcome.
