PG generally equates to more throat hit, less vapor, flavoring comes through cleaner.

VG equates to less TH, more vapor/"lung hit", tends to mute flavoring a bit (though a good juice vendor compensates for this appropriately). VG is much thicker than PG, so vendors often cut it with a few % alcohol or distilled water.

Some people are sensitive to PG, so need high VG % or even zero PG in some cases.

Some people don't like VG, there are periodic complaints about it leaving an oily coating in the mouth.

For newer people 80% PG and 20% VG (80/20) is a pretty common sweet spot -- good throat hit and decent vapor. Over time many people vary the mix they use.

VG is vegetable glycerin aka USP Glycerin which you can buy at Walmart in the drug dept

PG is USP Propylene Glycol which is also used in inhalers, for concert fog, in food flavorings

I vape 70pg/30vg and for some tobacco juices I use 80pg/20vg for more TH. Some of my dessert-like flavors are 50/50

Backwoods Brew is 70/30
Many of FreedomSmokeUSA's normal size juices and unflavored have selectable PG/VG
Gourmet Vapor lets you choose any PG/VG
etc
