2 pieces of advice..
1. Watch rip trippers video on micro nano coils. Helped me a bunch.
2. Find something a tad bigger than 1/16th ".
I use a 14 gauge tongue ring bar to wrap mine, with any where from 8 to 12 wraps. I currently have a 10 wrap, firing at 2.5 ohms. When I dry fire mine (without a wick, I use cotton) it glows red just fine. I dry fire it til my Kamry maxes out and shuts off, usually 8 seconds. I do this to break the coil in. I do it 3 times or so.
As for why I use a 14 gauge to wrap my coils, I find I get slightly higher ohms and it allows for me to use a cotton wick without making it too big. Getting the " Goldie locks zone" for your coils and wick will take time and probably your sanity. I made, tried and tossed my first 4 could builds. A few were due to having bad connections and not knowing it, and the others to over stuffing with cotton and making to thin of wraps. Be patient and keep at it. You'll get it.
