Help with my mountain dew reciepe

So I've been making my own juice for about 5 months and recently just ventured into making a mt dew juice. I'm using a 50/50 base at 18mg nic. I'm using tfa mt dew flavoring at 13 percent with 3 percent em and 2 percent tfa sweetener. I've been letting it steep for about a week but it keeps giving a slite metallic aftertaste. The flavoring is almost spot on but I'm having trouble with the aftertaste. I origanally started at 18 percent flavor and worked my way down to 13 this has helped but the aftertaste still remains. I've tried a drop of smooth per 10mls I've tried a few drops of lemon juice I'm lost at this point on what else I can try any suggestions?
