Im not new to smoking an ecig (I have been smoking one for over a year now) but i need a new one and have no idea where to start. Currently, i am/have been using the Cig2o brand because they sell the cartomizers/batteries at my local smoke shop. The cig2o is reliable, but it lacks flavors and since you can only use a cartomizer, its pretty limited. Now i know you can use the condom method and everything else to fill them back up, but i really want to get into using e liquid because of all the flavors i have seen. Now my question is, what brand/model of ecig should i buy? I looked through the review section and even watched some videos but i cant decide. Some of the things i want in my new ecig are:

Strong throat hit and A LOT of vapor..... thats one of my biggest concerns as the cig2o just doesnt seem up to par with some of these videos i have seen for other brands.

Abundance of flavors.... i want to have options (i heard from a friend that champaign is REALLY good) :p

Price.... i dont have a problem spending some money on a quality product, but over $150 with shipping is about where i draw the line.

Good battery life.... i need something to last me at least a good majority of the day (im a chain smoker and always have my ecig with me)

I dont really care what it looks like as long as it gets the job done, so anything will do . i have seen many different types of ecigs that take liquid and im just a little confused on what i want..... im sure some of you have a good suggestion or two to point me in the right direction.

happy vaping! :vapor:

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, for ease of use, tons of available parts, cartomizers, atomizers, colors, chargers etc, etc, etc and eGo is by far the most common of the extended battery life units you can get. It has standard 510 threads and the amount of extra stuff you can get for it is astounding.

Your best bet for TH, with an eGo, is either a dual coil cartomizer or a low resistance atomizer. I recommend both. atty's for dripping, dc cartos for driving. The best flavor is usually produced through dripping.

There are a number of similar units too, ie the Riva. It is very similar to the eGo in size and battery life. It really comes down to where you want to purchase it. Some people are vendor loyalists.

Juice...welcome to the fun...your going to have to either get VERY lucky and find a vendor right off the bat or be like the rest of us and order a ton of different juice until you find your all day vape. I really cannot stress the importance of reading in the juice review forums heartily enough. Ask tons of questions and be prepared for a lot of varying opinions. Try and list flavors you believe you would like to try so people can assist you in tracking down your perfect juice. All of us are very willing ot help you out in any way we can.

Relax and have fun with this! It's truly a wonderful place to be.

Welcome to the family:vapor:

Im definitely going to take a look at the eGo your talking about, but im a little confused on the whole "low resistance" and "carto" lingo hah. Sorry to sound so uneducated about the subject since i am on an ecig forum, but im used to buying a new cartomizer and screwing it on to the battery so i never even attempted to learn all about this stuff. Ive read that the drip tip method gives the best flavor, but is it good for all day use? What im asking is ow often do i refill when i use that method because im very interested in it. thanks!

A good solid mod would be the Silver Bullet from altsmoke or the 510N from Kalamazoo Vapor Shop. KVS and Juicy Vapor both have good e-liquids.

Sisko, i see you live in Barberton..... im actually from Copley! Would you know any good stores around here to get a quality ecig, or is buying online the best option for what im looking for?

Blech...prefilled cartos. I've never found one I could actually stomach.

Carto=cartomizer
Atty=atomizer
Low resistance=hotter vape, more TH (throat hit)

OK, now a lesson in dripping. NO, it won't last all day. You need to add a few drops of juice every few vapes or so. I use a drip setup when I am sitting in front of my computer because I have a lot of different type of juice handy. Plus, if I want to change over juice and try something else I simply swap the atomizer and use a different juice. You can't really do that with a carto, unless you open a new one and add a ton of juice to it. Dripping allows for less juice to be used to get the desired effect.

There are juice box mods, bottom feeder mods, mods mods mods. I'm trying to keep this as simple as possible for you right now. To say all this can be a bit daunting is an understatment. You're going to be bombarded with a tremendous amount of data so be ready. Try not to rush into anything just yet...that'll come later:laugh:

The Reo is cool. I have never owned one but have used one many times. And they feel and look VERY welly constructed! BUT saying all that $140 for a bottom feeder just seem like to much money to spend on a mod like that. I can go to radio shack or madvapes and buy the parts to build my own and in like 3 hours BAMMMM a $25 bottom feeder! NOW it will be no were nears as durable as a Reo but my DIY mods have always lasted a long time. SO i would say go with a Ego or Riva, that's just my 2 cents.

I'm fairly new but did a lot of reading; and still feel fairly new but I want to try to give something back to someone who just about matches my story to a tee.

I did the gas station thing, the Njoy to be exact and I'm glad I did because my last analog was in January sometime. But I thought it was a horrible thing even though I was getting a bit of throat hit and.............well that's all I can say on the positive side. But I did need the th for the feeling of damaging myself properly and it took me to the next place. I bought an overpriced k808 and was liking things a lot more since I bought a better ecig and then realized after visiting this site that there were actually good flavors out there, though a bit allusive at first.

After the smoke cleared and my eyes somewhat healed from the reading marathon, I went with the ego-t type b tank system. Thought I loved it for the convenience and quickly realized that it tasted like s--t compared to the cartos I had been using on the k808.

After tanking with the tank for a while, I realized 510 cartos worked great on the eGo batteries, and you could also get a really cheap adapter to run the k808 cartos on which I think are great. I just pop a drip tip (which are also very cheap) on the carto so I can drip around 5 drops or whatever in the thing if it starts to lose strength.

I know I'm a noob and some people hate the cartos but to me that's it. I actually bought some mega 808's and love them. But to get back on topic I give you this advice because I wish someone was able to give it to me to keep me from wasting my time and money. Just make sure to at least take advantage of something with a larger battery. It's priceless...... Then just play around some. The setup I'm talking about is pretty inexpensive so just do some reading and pull the trigger on something and you'll be acting like a good vaping junkie and getting a new "cool" mod in no time.

    in a cave, eh?
I've got an Echo and the battery life (1300 mAh) and juice capacity (3ml) are ridiculous. It vapes at 4.2 volts which will give you plenty of vapor. The battery is automatic though, which won't work for dripping. And the battery connection is compatible with KR808D-1 accessories. Before you drop 3ml of juice into your cartomizer, you might want a system for dripping to test your juice.

There's an Echo-E version with a manual battery option. The battery connection is compatible with 510 accessories. Get yourself an extra 510 or 306 atomizer with a drip tip and you're sailing. :D

You don't need to buy your e-juice from the same site.

Ive been busy reading for about an hour and i really feel like a tank system is right for me..... i just need to find a complete kit to buy now :p. What is a good tank system to take a look at? Im done with cartomizers as i just ran through my last 5 pack of raspberry (which tastes nothing like rasberries....yuck). Bring on the flavor! :vapor:

If you REALLY want to go with a "tank" system IMO the only way to go is the Ego-T.....You can read up on them on here or watch Grimmgreen's videos on them on youtube. You will find with people who have tried them they either LOVE them or HATE them. I owned one for a week and gave it away, so it tells you what I thought of it LOL. I personally think I get WAY better flavor and vapor out of a boge 2.0hom cartomizer on a Ego then I ever did out of the Ego-T. The tank system as a TOTAL FAIL for me, but thats just IMO. You might be totally happy with it becasue its a step up from what you are using now. As far as the "pre filled" cart's go they all taste like crap to me....I just buy blanks and fill with the juice I like. And then I drip with a 510 or 306 atty to do flavor testing.

I actually just purchased the Ego-T from mypvshop.com thanks to Steelrat's suggestion. $50 for what seems like a great product is fine with me :p. Plus all the reviews seemed good for it in general..... im excited to get it and ill let you guys know how i like it (im assuming its going to blow away my year old Cig2o brand with the bad tasting cartomizers hah). Thanks everyone for all of your help and im excited to start vaping with the best :vapor:

smokingwater, first research whats best for YOU (ecf, Youtube etc.) and you can google just about any model you are interested in with the word review after it and get tons of info... Also look for discount codes for whatever vendor you might go with...many times you can get really good deals just by googling (vendor namehere coupon code!)

I know you are researching, but we don't know your life. I mainly drip (for flavor), even at work. You may not want the hassle. My everyday carry is a 510 inferno from Volcano ecigs (ego clone). It's fine. The batteries last me all day and it came with a usb passthrough cable (and its a rad red color lol) so if you are at the computer all day you never have to charge. At work I squeeze it in my pen pocket on my arm lol ...I also have a couple box mods that do the same thing (but mine are dirt cheap). I like the way they feel better in my hand, batteries are cheaper but they look like walkie talkies lol.(they also stand up on their own which is handier than you might think!) If I had the money (for ONE pv) and would do it again, I would get a reo also. Good performance, least hassle.

Most ego/clones will work fine for you, just get one with a couple of big batteries 900mah and up. You can use the cartomizers/clearomizers (and refill them!) or a tank system whatever if you like especially in the car.
I change flavors a lot so dripping works well for me.

Not always, but generally TH inreases with the amount of nicotine used, the higher concentration of pg in your eliquid, and if you are using a higher voltage pv. (Personal vaporizer) A LR or low resistance atomizer/cartomizer simulates this and might be better for you, but seem to not last quite as long.

As far as the e liquids (or e juice) that is personal, butttt there are some liquids that have pretty big followings you can feel safe with. Are you a big tobacco nut? Coffee your thing? Maybe fruity or desserty? Or all of the above. Whatever you like DO NOT buy based on one persons opinion. You can purchase sample packs, instead of buying a lot of one flavor and maybe not liking it. Let us know what type flavor you are into most (if you know at this point) and we will give our opinions.
LOL don't buy bacon or crab juice!

JWtruth25 made some good points, most of us started with an ecig like that. He didnt like the tanks, but was still able to adapt the ego how he wanted. Thats why they are great.

As in everything there is a learning curve so research research research. Their will be upkeep, and DON'T forget to buy spares of what you need.....and congrats on the one year with the ecig.....big vapor cloud just now in your honor :)

lastly....your going to become obsessed lol it's a very fun experience
