Help with PG & VG

I am just starting out with DIY mixing and looking for ingredients.

Can anyone tell me if these 2 products look to be ok for vaping? They both state they are food grade, but just want to be sure i'm not missing something?

PG: 250ml PG, MPG Propylene Glycol 1,2-Propanediol 99+% on eBay (end time 04-Feb-11 12:24:32 GMT)

VG: 250ml VEGETABLE GLYCERINE BP Cosmetic & Food Grade on eBay (end time 14-Feb-11 18:38:40 GMT)

Any help / pointers is appreciated.

I am not sure what MPG is but since you are in the UK why not just order from LF. That way you are certain to get high grade vape friendly product. Just a thought.

I think in the US you want to look for USP or in the EU maybe "EC"... not sure what MPG is either but if it is 99%+ should equate to USP. Both look fine to me but PG seems overpriced.

Thanks, Yeah actually i'm gonna order the PG from LF. I order quite a bit from them. Including my 52mg Nic juice. But this VG on eBay is considerably cheaper than their VG. Hmmm....

Understand but in my book I would rather pay a few dollars (pounds) more and know I am getting quality product. Also with the price of smokes in the UK and the money you are saving consider it worth the extra cash. Anyway best of luck and happy vapes to you!

The VG is BP grade which is the British pharmaceutical equivalent of USP.

And you're right the PG is overpriced.

The thing is i never tried VG, and not even sure i will like it and LF only have 250ml bottles. So for just a few pounds, i thought it was worth a try just to add like 20% to my mixes to see how I get on with it.

I don't know about the products listed but you will want some VG if you like vapor production. PG doesn't have much by itself.

Yeah, I like about 15-20% VG. If you really just want a small amount of VG... I think ECOpure is VG and 20ml comes with the FA sampler kits from FAUK.IT eliquid and groovy gear.. I have 3 on order...1 free from their giveaway but I am not sure if it is going anymore (thread somewhere here). They list price for 5x5ml of flavoring as 12 pounds but it was 10 for me when I put it in my cart, maybe US prices, got me.

I am having trouble finding out what strength Nic juice you get with it though. Do you know? Can it be specified?

NP. FAUK is intellicig but those prices aren't bad for FA, at least over here and their customer service was pretty good so far. The only place I know that beats it ml/$ is ecigexpress, but their selection is limited as well. ECE's min order is 30 ml too but I heard they are restocking soon and offering 6ml samples.

I'm curious, have you been vaping 100% PG or are you new to mixing? I know I've seen some few people say they do, then others make it sound like nothing will wick and the juice will all run away without VG. Besides the visible smoke, I'm not sure why I even want VG anymore. But, if you are vaping 15 days like your sig says, it probably can't hurt to have some VG on hand. Never know when you might get the urge to make a youtube video.

I think it is plain VG, no nic. I don't remember if they even carry nic.

Yes, just 15 days. I have only been vaping premixed PG juices up until now.

They do carry Nic.

And the description on the sampler packs says: "Each Sample pack comes complete with all you need to make up 5 x 5ml bottles of flavoured eliquid - you can choose the 5 flavours and the nicotine strength."

But there is no option to do this. It does mention later on that you can add a note asking for specific flavours, but doesnt mention the nic.

Also i dont think you actually get 5 x 5ml of the flavours, just a small amount in the 5ml bottles for you to add the base to?

"Each flavour is pre-blended in its own 5ml bottle so all you need to do is add the ECOpure"

OMG you are right I think... lol....now I have to try to get my money back or work something out. Good thing I didn't email him back yet. What a rip off! FA is very concentrated so those are like 6ML bottles with a few drops of flavoring in.

Since they sell flavors individually for 3 pounds each I just figured you get one free with samplers. I would have been so mad to get this thanks!

Haha. Glad I spotted that for you then. Hope you sort something out. The website is definitely misleading!!

The liquid alone is £12 on the intellicig site though, so I suppose its not so bad in that respect. But that is expensive for Nic juice!
