Help With Steeping!

Hi, I ordered like 150mL of juices from vape Wild. I got some extra flavor shots in some of them. The baked goods and vanilla flavors are just smelling like nasty perfume. I even tried vaping them and it was totally gross. I have bought bakery flavors in the past from Madtown and MBV and had the same nasty problem, and even after steeping were gross. I want to like them SO much.
I have read so many good reviews about these juices and just don't understand.
I have read various different ways of steeping, keeping the lid off for 24 hours, not shaking them and squeezing the bottle, putting them in hot water, etc. PLEASE help with the best and fastest way to make these flavors taste normal! I don't want to have wasted all that time and money on them.

You can let them breath overnight with the cap off, but steeping takes time. Breathing lets any alcohol in the flavors evaporate. Some people set them in warm water to speed the process. If that doesn't help, some people use ultrasonic jewelry cleaners to speed steep them. I haven't done it, hopefully someone that has can offer some advice.

I love vape Wild and like the vast majority of their juices just fine without steeping. Or even breathing. The only one I don't like is the butterscotch. And I've let it breath a couple times and steep for a few months.

Yeah about 12 of the ones I bought all are very perfumy. I have a baby bottle warmer that does hot water, Should I put it in that and how long do you think? I did put it in some hot water and squeezed the bottles with the caps off without shaking. They are currently sitting in the bathroom with all the caps and drip things off

I've never done speed steeping so I wouldn't want to give bad advice. Maybe try a search on this site? I would let them breath then check the smell and see if they smell better. If that doesn't work, warm water may help but I have no idea what a good temp or time would be. Hopefully someone with some knowledge on the subject with chime in.

plus some i got extra flavoring... have you ever had the dutch apple pie/ peace pipe/ cinnamon toast / tobacco kinds
I haven't tried the tobacco flavors from VW, they used to just make me want a real smoke...

The (s+c)2 is a favorite. To me, right out of the mailbox it has a strawberry candy flavor that turns into a real strawberry flavor with some steeping. Their cheesecake flavors to me have a fairly strong graham cracker crust flavor, light on the cheesecake. The Vanilla clouds I got was a sample and I didn't get to it for about 2 weeks, but was good. The problem with most juices is taste is subjective. What I may love and think tastes exactly as described, you may think is aweful and tastes nothing like described.

Jseah, when you breath a juice, you do it before you shake it. The alcohol is lighter than the juice and floats to the surface. Let it evaporate before you shake.

hi there

first off dont breath them to long as the longer they breath the more goodness is lost recomended
breathing is usualy done an hour or so at a time overnight not realy a good start

if you stand the bottles in hot tap water for a short while this tends to thin the juice then give them a good shake to help mix everything up then remove the tops and let them breath for an hour or so then replace the tops and put the bottles away in a dark cupboard and leave for a day or so and try them again

if they still taste and smell perfumey then repeat the breathing for another hour or so and warm them up first again to thin them out as this helps to breath and evaperate the alcohol off of them

you may just need to age them but dont over do the breathing as the nic and flavor will start to drop off if over do it

each day warm and shake to mix then remove cap squeeze a few times just to expel the old air in the bottle for fresh and replace the cap and put away again

some people heat the bottles of juice to try and speed the process up

if you are wanting to try this do a small bottle first and see how it goes or you could ruin the whole batch

hope this helps

Hi Chelsea and welcome.

Steeping eliquids is all about "diffusion" per Hoosier and Kurt--who just happen to be experts on the subject. Please read their comments below.

Steeping explanation | E-Cigarette Forum

Steeping is highly overrated and overhyped. Unless you DYI or buy fresh NETs, taste your juice when it arrives--if you like it, vape it. If you don't like it, let it sit for a while... It may get better, but it may also get much worse. Eliquid flavors will change with time no matter what you do; I like some of my favorite juices when they are very young, others taste better--to my taste buds--after a while. We're all different. YMMV.

Taking the cap off has nothing to do with steeping. You leave the cap off overnight only if your eliquid has an overpowering odor--alcohol, perfume, etc.--and you want to get rid of that. With any luck, those offending volatile molecules will evaporate.

IOW, your juice should be at least tolerable/vapable fresh out of the box. If it isn't, then steeping may not help at all. Sorry.

also if you have loads of them you may not want to do them all at the same time just pick the ones you realy want to try first and do the others at a later date

some brands and flavors are almost good to go when they arrive others just need time

also the ones you cant stand as they taste realy bad dont throw them away just leave them a few weeks or a month and try them again later if they still taste realy bad then its either a bad juice or it could just be that your own taste buds do not agree with the type of flavoring used in the mix

and prob a good time to try another vendor different firms use different types of flavoring and it could just be that the ones you got dont agree with your taste

always shake juice as they are mixes things will seperate when left to stand

bad example i know ( if you were to mix a little gasolene water and dish soap togeather) in a bottle and shake them they would seem to mix fairly well due to the dish soap

but if you leave it to stand for a little while they will again seperate

bad example i know

but shaking is always your best friend with juice

Last week I had ordered a couple of bottles of juice from Mitten Vapors in max VG with 2 extra flavor shots. Received them on Monday, uncapped the bottles and they smelled great. Tried vaping one of them and it had such a heavy perfume taste it was like vaping air freshener. Put the cap back on, gave them a good shake and then left them to sit on the shelf. Tried them today and they tasted great. The perfume taste was totally gone. I highly recommend it. I used a coupon code that still works "hohoho" and got 71 percent off. My first order was two 100 ml bottles of juice and even though they charge $4.95 for flat rate shipping, it cost me just over $20 for a total of 200 ml of juice. I went back to the site today and placed an order for nine 100 ml bottles. After the 71 percent discount, which still worked, the total was just under $123 for 900 ml of juice.
