So I've had my itaste svd for about 3 weeks. Last week it had a problem any tank, carto I put on would read 0.0 and it the light would go solid red for 5 seconds. Eventually for no apparent reason it started working again. Until today. Now it is doing it again, not fixing itself this time. I've researched everything I can about this problem and read about lifting up the center pin, playing with the connection pins on the cartos, etc. I've read some people said they had to replace the rubbery thing under the pin on the svd.

Here's the weird thing, if I hold down the fire button before I put a carto on, and keep holding it while I twist on the carto, I can get it to fire. Then I let go, try again, and get the red light again. If its actually recognizing the cartos and firing when I do that, would that mean the rubber thing, grommet, whatever its called is not the problem? Any help would be appreciated. I'm pretty annoyed that this is happening after only three weeks

I've been having some similar problems with my SVD as well, and it's all about the center pin. I can have a tank on it, and change a battery and then I can get -non- meaning no tank attached. It is what it is, unfortunately. My pin seems to be very loose as well. Yes, it's on a spring, but it's not going to last long I think.

Only thing I can say is to check that your pin is moving freely. Not jammed down into the unit.

I am going to let others chime in here because I have never gotten a read of 0.0

I went out and bought an Evic because of this so I have a spare.

Yeah it's definitely not jammed down in there, I even lifted it a bit to make sure. But it's obviously making contact because I can hold down the button with nothing attached, screw on the tank while I'm still holding the button and it'll fire. As soon as I let go and try again it goes back into bull.... mode.

I got it from Puresmoker, a company here in Nashville I just visited their store. They actually just relocated to downtown and revamped the whole company and now they are called VolVapor. I was there a couple days ago and some woman was trying to get help with an Ego she purchased from Puresmoker she got a couple weeks before and they told her they can't help her because its two separate companies. Even though as far as I know it's the same owners and everything, so I'm thinking if I take it in they are gonna tell me the same thing which is just fabulous.

If I try to fix this thing...I mean I have no experience and there aren't any videos on the subject. But am I right in thinking that if its firing when I attach something while holding the button, then it's not a problem with the rubber circle thingies. And when you say o-ring is that what your talking about? And can I pull the center pin out all the way? Or if I do that will there be soldering needed

0.0 almost always means dead short. My guess would be THAT your center pin is messed up and is bending over or listing, making contact to the device itself or the negative side of your tank. Without looking I can't say for sure. That would be the first thing I checked after I made sure my tank wasn't actually shorted. Does it do the same thing with a regular carto/atty?

It does it with everything seems like. I usually use punched cartos with a tank, and sometimes I'll slip on the ProTank and it'll work for a couple puffs and then go red again. I posted this originally earlier today while riding back from a road trip, and I've been using my ego backups. Since then I've gotten home and I just fired it up, and it's working again. So, woohoo I guess, but I definitely don't want to deal with anymore. I'm gonna try taking up to the local shop tomorrow and see what they can tell me.

I was having a similar issue with my SVD. I would pull up the center post and it still would not register. I used the same fix that they use for the Vamo center pin issue. I pulled the rubber washer out of the SVD from under the battery post and replaced it with a #60 o-ring. Works great and have no issues with it.

Boy oh boy I could really use some help here. I've watched a couple videos and have determined I need to get a #60 o-ring from Home Depot tomorrow. In the meantime I lifted up the pin a bit, worked up the original o-ring so it wasn't smushed down in there as much but now the whole pin is kinda wonky and I can't seem to get it pushed back down into its original spot. On the bright side it's working right now. But as soon as I take this tank off who knows lol. I don't know what I'm doing. I try to push the center pin back down but it won't stay down in there like it used to
