i'm gonna go out on a limb before one of the SS folks spots this and claim this thread as their own by saying that burnt carto you found has to be a fluke. i've bought 10 cartos from them in the past two months, and every one of them still work great except the two i intentionally killed. rest assured, it's not the norm.

I think you may be right on that one. I've had one dud but I've purchased quite a few myself so I didn't think much of it. It happens. I've had far worse results elsewhere. But I did do some damage on several cartos when I first started vaping. Not with SS cartos, but with some others. Took me the longest time to figure out when it was too dry LOL! So I'm not sure what it is in this case. Certainly if it happened shorty after she started vaping...its a dud. It is pretty tough to burn SS cartos...they are pretty durable and specifically designed not to burn (at least not easily). Thats why I think she should mention it to customer service, especially because they are more expensive than most cartos. And they do seem to stand behind their products.

The SS cartos are burn resistant- but you can burn them if you let them get too dry. Because of the way the cartos are made, the condom refill method doesn't work very well. Here's a link the the best refilling method for SS cartos. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/smokestik/84769-cartomizers-2.html#post1429015. And another link to customer service contact info http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/smokestik/131956-my-smokestik-doesnt-work-right-what-do-i-do.html

oh- and welcome to ECF :)

I really think this might work for me if I can figure out what Im doing wrong sometimes. These are disposable, you dont refill. I didnt do anything to it but screw it on the battery and take a drag. After reading a post on the sokestik forum, am I suppose to be washing the cotton stuff in it 1st? I didnt know not to inhale the 1st few drags. Am I dragging to hard, to long, to fast?
Please help thanks

Yes, your cartomizers can be refilled. My cartos last about 3 weeks (when rotating 15 cartos). It takes me about an hour of vaping to empty a carto.

No, you don't have to wash the filter inside the cartos. I only flush them out when they're clogged and I can't get them unclogged by blowing through the mouth end or the threaded end -- and when I want to get rid of a bad flavor in a carto. I use the flushing method that I posted in my blog.

As far as how to inhale and/or drag, you'll have to experiment to find what works best for you, but I usually take a couple of slow puffs and then inhale, or I'll take three or four long drags and then inhale.

Here are a couple of videos showing the simplest and least messiest method to refill cartomizers. I also use a large bent paper clip (or my finger) to remove the white mouth end caps (or a fork to remove the glued plastic mouth caps -- don't buy that kind anymore), and the cartomizers I use have no inner rings or washers inside. Also, I only drip about 10-12 drops into the filter when refilling. Any more than that will cause the liquid to drip out of the threaded end of the carto -- and will overfill them, which will result in less vapor and a lot more puffing due to not enough air inside the filter.

At least one of the following videos shows to drip 19 drops, which would overfill my cartos, because I don't vape them to the point of getting the burnt taste of the filter burning. I'll switch to a newly-refilled carto when I start getting less vapor and less flavor.

If you go the Hendu elite or special Gold with the gem in it, those hendu cartomizers are a MUST HAVE. I havn't found tobacco flavoring that mimics a regular analog cig and just didn't want to try further. I got their menhol, and wow it's strong. My tongue and throat stay "iced" for an hour after 10 puffs! Menthol lovers will LOVE these, but I'm a sweets vapor addict; good lord nothing beats calorie free dessert!

REFILLING HENDU ALERT: You cannot use the condom method straight up. The Hendu caps are too shallow for the threaded end on these, AND there is extra filler just under the cap to prevent juice backflow. Very nice features if you're a Hollywood star and can afford using them as pure disposibles :)

LAZY HENDU REFILL: FIRST Use a paper clip and poke GENTLY into the breathing hole until the batting is out of the way, then EITHER use a fine tip dropper and drip slowly until a drop comes out the bottom AND dry the threads *thoroughly* OR take the cap from the top that came with the carto (smoother on the inside with the male plug), turn it inside out, castrate the plug, turn right side out, and use the "condom method" on the breathing hole side. Always clean off the outside well so you don't get juice irriation or juice in your battery.

GOOD LUCK!

OK
I own the Hendu. I bought it just to compare to other 4081's. It is nothing exceptional, in my view. It is a 4081. If you like 4081 you likely will like the Hendu. If you do not, you won't.

The 4081 is an ok model, just not for smokers that smoke 1 pack a day or more, in my view. No way in hell could I use it as a main PV personally. But I like the taste of it.

The Hendu is a name - not a battery or model style. It denotes the color compared to the other models. I believe that is all.

well thanks for all the information. I think I know how to smoke my ecig now. I think that a few of my cartos where bad, and a few i smoked to dry, but its all good now. I really love it, but i still smoke regulars. Im going to try refilling. If anyone smokes SS menthol, what juice taste the closest to it? I also should say I dont mind the price of SS cartomizers, I still think it is cheaper than my old smoking habit and healther. Everyone smokes in my family, some dont have much money, I want to get them all SS for xmas, and show them all how to refill and save tons of money and their health. My sister loved mine and knew it would help her quit, but she order one from southbeach cause it was cheaper and hates the taste so much she cant smoke it. She likes the taste of mine and so do my other siblings. My hubby said to just order a bunch of juice til I find one I like. Well if anyone can help could you please list about 5 companies that I should try, I know I dont want southbeach. Thanks again, love my ecig.

The only liquids I like (out of six suppliers) is from FreedomSmokeUSA.com. The flavors are in my signature, and that's all I vape all the time...and probably will for a long time. Just my opinion, but FSUSA is a very popular liquid supplier (ships from Arizona by priority mail).

I've been refilling my SS menthol carto with vapor4life's WOW peppermint. It's very complimentary to the menthol, pretty strong and vaporful, but doesn't "ice" your tongue and throat quite as much. They also have a WOW "smilin menthol" which I have not tried. $12.50 for 30ml of juice is a great deal from my juice buying experience. (remember if you go to that site, those ecig parts are NOT compatible with your SS)

Good luck!

Hi Newuser357, I recently bought the Smokestik Hendu Elite. I love it.
The only problem that I have encountered is the short battery life..3 hours, wish they could do better with the battery life.
Also, when I smoked analog cigs I would have never touched a menthol, but with SmokeStik I am addicted to their menthol flavor...go figure.
I can't believe how easy it was for me to make the switch to ecigs, nothing had worked for me in the past but this method is a life saver.
