I purchased a sub tank plus about two weeks ago and since then both of my glass tube have chipped and crack, the first one is totally gone broke from a large crack, but the second one just broke today after I filled the tank, it still works but as soon as I take it off it will be in pieces , anyways I ordered two replacement tube , but I want to find out what the problem mighy be so I prevent it from happening again , I mean it starts with chips at the top of the glass then a large crack which I can only assume is cause by the chip , but I can't find out why it keeps chipping, are the o rings pushing the glass out and it chipping when I screw it in the base? Any help will be greatly appreciated

There's nothing that has to be more than finger tight. As time goes on everything seems to get tighter which makes it a real pain to take apart later. One of mine that I dropped had a small dent in the ring that holds the bottom of the glass, check and see if you might have a similar spot that is causing it to touch the glass.

I don't use my Subtanks anymore, it took me about 2.5 months to break all the spare glass pieces. They work great, but really need to come up with something similar to the Aspire hollowed tube or a plastic sleeve instead of glass.

No dent as far as I can tell, unless it's at the top near the o ring , I love the sub tank but like you said they need to make a sleeve for the glass , I mean at least a third party vendor should hop on it and make me

Have you Taken the O-Ring off and Made Sure there isn't some Foreign Matter under the O-Ring? Making it Bulge Slightly. Or that the O-Ring might have a Thick spot in it?

BTW - Are these the O-Rings that came with your Tank?

Nothing under the orings , no they are not had the problem with the red ones , so I put the black ones in same problem, just ordered the blue ones not the same color as advertised tho, I lined them up and measured them they are to the same specs down to the millameter

Then it sounds like the Problem is Over Tightening.

Just snug the Tank Up. Torqueing down on it does Prevent it from Leaking anymore than a Semi-Firm Snug Fit.

And BTW - Leaking hasn't been Much of a Problem with this Particular Tank.

I would definitely check your o rings and order a spare set. If you're tightening them down to the point you stress the glass, I'd bet you might have damaged the o rings a bit. As far as replacements go, I did see that kanger might be making stainless sections to replace the glass sleeve. Might be a good option for you, but you wouldn't be able to see the juice level.
