I have one but never had it turn yellow or orange. I will venture a guess though, in the video shows lifting it causes the light color change. I was thinking perhaps it is a warning that the battery isn't fully seated. I can't get mine to do it though but do see if you look at the center area of the light when green it has kind of a yellow spot, so perhaps it is just the light itself. If it is charging I would worry much about it though I do check mine after they have charged that they didn't over charge. I'm waiting for a new NITECORE i4 Intellicharge universal smart battery Charger (Ver. 2) which I'm replacing it with. I need a bit more than 2 slots.

Mine does the same thing, sometimes red, sometimes orange, then eventually red. I did some searching about it and found several speculations but no answers. I checked the batteries on my multimeter after they went green and they were fully changed. A little weird but I'm not worried about it myself. Will probably get a better charger down the road.

Replace it with a quality xtar or Pila charger from RTD. Nitecore and Efest use the same charging algorithm but don't have quite as good of a quality control reputation, close, but not quite. I've had a WP2 II for a couple of years now and will retire it to back-up status when I get around to getting a WP2S because the 2S doesn't need spacers to charge 18350s.

Well thanks again for the replies, I asked a guy at the B&M where I picked this up, and he said orange is an 'Almost charged' indicator..?
So Nu2Dis, you might be right. If it's on 3.0v it's all green on any of my 18650s, so EMUS, the fact that yours does the orange light when on that setting is just another 'strange' inconsistency in my book. Mine also warms up alot more than I'm comfortable with, and I will NEVER leave it unattended, which means if it's going to take 12-19 hrs to fully charge my bats., forget it!!
Good-bye TR-001, hello XTAR mp2 II or Nitecore...? DW, I'll look at more reviews, but I've seen that Xtar had issues making contact with flat tops, and all my current bats. are FTs. Sure I could throw some solder on there or spacers, but there has to be a charger out there that works across the 18350-18650 FT or BT board that is reliable and quicker!! ARG! :)

My TR-001 does not have a switch for 3V - must be an older model. But it is handy to have one charger for both 18350 & 18650.

My 7-11-2011 TR-001 is white and has no 3.6v/3.0v switch.
My 2012 TR-001 is black and has the 3.0v/3.6v switch.

I just did the wrong 3.0v switch position test and it glowed green. Perhaps the orange is as shop owner said; I seem to recall orange light near end of charge.

For now I don't know why I got orange/yellow light when switch was wrongly set to 3.0v.

I opened her up a while back to see what makes her tick:
