Hello all, I've been using a KR808 for a few months but now I've decided I want a little more power. I've decided on an EGO-C. This may sound stupid, but what else do I need to get started on this set up? This is what I have ordered so far:

- EGO C 1000 Mah
- Dual Coil tank Cartomizer
- Drip Tip
- Cone
- Charger

Am I missing an atomizer or is that included in the Cartomizer? What should I know about changing from my KR808 w/ Cartomizer to this set up? Appreciate any help. Thanks.

Cheers Niterider, you didn't give any amounts in your list but only one battery will leave
you with only your 808's for back-up when it's charging(unless it's a passthru unit).

You'll need more than one DCC and if it has holes punched in the sides of it, you will need a tank to put it in.

Hope you enjoy the step up to the ego c....is it the new vv twist version?:vapor:

The Ego will give you longer battery life but at a lower voltage than your current kr808 set up. I'm with silversx, if you really want an ego get a twist, or even a kgo will give you a warmer vape than the Ego. If you've already ordered it, track down some low resistance carto for your tank, either the SmokTech 1.7ohm single coils or the Boge 2ohm. Good luck :)

Sorry for not being more specific. It is an Ego Twist. This is the only supplier I can find who has the 1000 mah in Black and I haven't ordered it yet.

Joyetech eGo TWIST Variable Volt Battery

Here is the DST: Dual Coil Tank Cartomizer 3.5ml Blue or Clear

He's including a free cone with this set up. Which I think is just for cosmetic purposes right?

My confusion is with the DST. It looks like a Tank and a Cartomizer. My understanding is these cartomizers include an atomizer just like my KR808 Cartos. How long do these tanks usually last? Reason the Tank is appealing to me is because I find it rather annoying to make sure my cartos are juicy couple times a day. But is sounds like you guys do not recommend a DCT/Tank at all.

You're correct, the cartomizer that comes with your tank is just like your KR808 carto except it has holes drilled in the side and has 510 threading. I usually get 7-14 days out of one cartomizer before it needs replacing, the thickness of your juice may also effect their life span. In regards to the actual tank itself, I've been using mine for nearly six months without incident. They take a little bit of practice to get the hang of, but once you've got them working properly it's a very satisfying vape and you're good to go for the day. Did you get the 3.5 or 6ml tank? If you're going to be using it on an ego you will probably want to get a shortly cone, which is available on that site to cover the ego threads. You don't have to get this but it looks better. Get the small one for the 3.5 or the big one for the 6ml. You will also need to purchase replacement tank cartomizers, i use the 1.7ohm but with a twist the 2ohm may be more suitable. These are available on the site also and they are priced fairly, they are at the bottom of page 2 in the cartomizer section. I hope this helps, good luck with your new set up.

you can get a great price on the ego twist from altsmoke.com. They sell the 1000mah twist for $25.99

If you want a tank type, get a vivi nova, Kranger T2 or 3ml Phoenix bottom coil, you will get more vapor and flavor. Plus you don't need to deal with cartos, fillers or the muted taste that comes with them.

Have you considered something like the smokeless image x2? Its an ego style battery that also has 808 threads. It is the same thing as a kgo, but instead of 510 threads, you have 808. You can also use any ego threaded device like the vision clearo, Kranger T2, 3ml bottom coil Phoenix. A 650mah is $20, a 900mah is $25 and 1300mah is $30 there is also a 15% off coupon.

Having an x2, at least as a backup to your twist would allow you to use all your 808 accessories, and ego threaded accessories.

Here is a video on it. I use several ego devices on both my x2 and ego twist.

Having a little giggle at all the carto hate from new vapors. :D

I may only be a 5 month vaper, but I use a lot of juice 6-8ml a day minimum, once I discovered bottom coil ce3 and they vivi nova, I never use a carto.

I know some people like them, but personally, I like the flavor from filterless (no filler) devices,

The new Kranger T2's are awesome too

Yeah, sorry mate, probably a bit rude and presumptuous of me. Never heard of a Kranger T2, might have to give them a Google.

So they're like a larger capacity CE4? How do they perform as far as flavour and throat hit go? Dry hits? Any cracking?

Pretty much is a larger cap ce4/5. The wicks still need tipping when juice gets low or else dry hit city. But normally the are good when filled. Flavor and VP are great but IMO only 2.4 ml cap. Also the mouthpiece tips are larger than normal 510 and won't accept a 510. The mouth pieces do tend to crack, not the tank though. They are decent.

That being said, boge 2ohm XL LR carto + glass Pyrex tanks on kicked SB & provari for me. Ce2 style just don't do it. The nova was the worst I ever had.

Yeah, i'm a tank guy as well, I've tried clearos but just can't get the consistency with them. I also enjoy the large capacity of a carto tank, just fill it in the morning and you're right for the day. I want to like clearos, but until i can find something that holds a usable 3ml, doesn't need modding, doesn't crack, doesn't leak and doesn't have to tipped and dry drawn every third hit, i don't think they'll win me over.

Same here. Before my mods I was using ego + ce4/5 style from tony @ Cropduster. They hit good but flavor got old/dirty towards the end and it only held 1.8-2ml. The vision stuff all sucked for me. Boge carts in a tank might not have the best flavor, but I love the 5ml capacity and ease of use. No trimming wicks, plugging air holes, boring air holes or rebuilding coils. Modding those makes it not user friendly and if I'm gonna mod I'd go rebuild atty like DID Penelope or ody.

Wow, thanks for the X2 mention. And great video by the way. I haven't considered that but it would make sense for me since I already have an 808. And the kanger looks to be just right for me being at 2.4ml.

So now I'm not so sure anymore. It's either the EGO twist or the Auto X2. Decisions decisions!

One other question with those T2's: do you have to make sure to change out the heads when changing flavors? I know you have to clean the casing but no one ever mentions the coil.

LOL, Well I ended up getting both and then some. Here is what I got:

Vape Dudes
- EGO Twist
- Various flavors

Smokeless Image
-X2 (Auto)
- Cone

Altsmoke
- (2) T2 Clearos w/ extra heads (Kanger?)

I hope I did right. Thanks all for your help.

Looks like you've got the best of both worlds. Despite getting bagged around here whenever i mention this, i love auto batts, I've been using Echo 808 autos for ages. I'd be interested in a bit of feedback on the Kanger T2s, not really for myself, but i do set up a few new vapors with starter kits and these might be a good inclusion if they work well.
