I am a newbie also. Only been vaping 2 weeks. Used to be a very heavy smoker 2 pks a day for 36 yrs. Thought I would never be able to quit after so so many attempts. Started using Blu e-cigs which were not the best choice but came to these forums and ended up buying an Ego C with a Vision clearomizer. Now have a Reo Grand and LOVE it. Very easy to use! I also found it very confusing. Never having even heard of Vaping 2 weeks ago. But happy to say have not picked up a regular cigarette (analog) in 2 wks. And if you knew me you would have thought that was impossible. Don't get fustrated. Hang in there. I have found the end of my rainbow vaping!

Sorry guys first post and yes very vage. I think my problem was info overload and just brought everything and perhaps not getting the combo right. I have eco c twist 1000mah battery. Ce5 cleros and mix my own juice 40/60 pg/vg with 20% flavour. Most of the pre mixed liquid i got was not good and was becomming expensive to just keep throwing away. Not a massive throat hit fan. Just cant get that flavour satisfaction

I was in the same boat for about a year and almost gave up on vaping. I started with disposables too standard ego batts and clearmoziers. then I got vivi novas. I had problems with everything I was trying. Leaking, burning, limited vapor, bad taste, you name it. They would work one day and id be happy and satisfied then order more stuff. The problems again and id be ...... for wasting my money.

After about a year of vaping I have found what ive been waiting for. Variable voltage devices and cartomizers and tanks. I now have like 6 tanks now and they all work great. ibtanked, j-tank, texas tuff tanks. Ive even thought about getting a lathe and making my oen. Although everyones different and you may not like cartomizers and tanks but i suggest trying out the many possiblities of vaping before you quit. Eventually you will get it figured out. Its too bad for me that cartomizers were my last option I tried. Man cartomizer tanks are so nice and look cool too. I dont even think about cigs anymore. Just keep trying new things, do your research, and you will find what works for you.

Finding the right flavor is like the Holy Grail. It's also annoying that your senses of taste and smell can shift around when you first start vaping. It took me about two months before I could taste anything other than strong mints and menthols.

Even though you weren't a heavy smoker, you might want to try 12mg (you don't have to vape it all day, I have a couple of strengths I switch around), since the nic level can have an impact on throat hit. Unless you're sensitive to pg, a change in ratio can making a difference too.

You may also want to try other juice delivery systems. Clearos can be a bit weak and inconsistent. Carto tanks are worth looking into.

Thank you I have a vivi tank on order and really hope this will be the missing link. Im from uk so are those tanks you mentioned available to me? Thanks again

There are carto tanks in the UK. Once you have 5 post you can post in the UK sub-forums and get recommendations of vendors.

I understand. Finding a good flavor or two can be just as important if not more so than finding the right mechanical gear.

The eGo Twist is good choice for a beginner. Perhaps a different juice delivery device would work better for flavor satisfaction. Clearos can be pretty wonky in consistancy and flavor in my experience. I'd probaby recommend you try an entirely different wicking delivery device such as a cartomizer tank. This just might provide you with the flavor that you are seeking. A cartotank will have a little larger learning curve than using a clearomizer, but with the right knowledge and some experience you can learn how to use them very effectively.

I've written some instructional articles on cartotanks in these blogs:

Juice delivery systems:

IBTanked tank review:

Read over the information and see if you might be interested in trying one.

Concerning the juice issue, what flavors have you tried and what have you liked and not liked? Are you drawn to a particular flavor niche, such as tobacco flavors, menthol, fruit, coffee, candy or spicy? I'm not experienced with DIY so I can't be of much help there.

Yeh I thought about upping the nic level but not sure if its only the frustration with the hardware that's making me want to pick up a cig or the fact im not getting enough nic. Will try that. What carto tank would you recommend can I get them in uk

You don't absorb nicotine the same way vaping as you do smoking tobacco, so trying out different strengths can be a good plan. Just guessing based on the amount you smoked doesn't seem to work very well. I suggest checking in the UK sub-forum about vendors. There are US vendors who ship to the UK, but you would pay less shipping if you could find one closer. Unfortunately, the only UK vendor I know much about has closed for the moment due to family health problems.

I'm pretty sure that IBTanked will ship to the UK. $25 for a complete kit. Instructions on how to pick and order a tank are in the review that I linked to in my above post.

Thank you so much for helping me its much appreciated. I will defo try a carto tank. I like fruity flavours not tobacco at all. I have only 1 flavour I really enjoyed it was green peach tea but its from america and super expensive to ship. I have ordered green tea and peach concentrate and will fingers crossed replicate it. Also aftet a while I could not taste it as much as at first. I was using an atomizer with a cartridge then moved it onto the ce5. Big mistake so gone back to the atomizer

Baditute I cant open your links

You have to have a certain # of posts before you can read blogs. I believe it's 5 (which you have), but it takes a while for the system to up date.

I dont know how good their prices are but Alba Vapours has tanks.
