In need of help with AGA-T2 on my Innokin Itaste SVD

Hey guys. So I have an aga-t2, which was awesome on my Tesla M6 before it decided to stop firing, and now I'm trying to build a coil using 30g or 34g kanthal on a 400 ss mesh wick. I cannot for the life of me get my coil to 1) stay at a constant ohmage and 2) cant get a coil to go any higher than .8 ohms when it decides to stay constant. Right now i have it stable at 1.2 ohms with 34g kanthal but I have 10/11 wraps (which seems rediculous). What am I doing wrong? Any advice to help me not go back to smoking cigs due to frustration? I dont know if this will help with an answer but when I was using my Tesla M6 i didnt have this problem and was using 28g kanthal and it was steady at .7 ohms with 3/4 wraps. Any help is super appreciated!

Remove coil and verify w/ DMM that center post is insulated from ground when snug on mod cap. Wiggle around and test again. Sometimes center hot pin silicone fail if over tightened.

SS wick can produce short; unlike cotton.

1.2 ohm coil on a mech mod suits AGA-T2 well.

I do cotton dual wick.

What mod are you using it on now? I tried 32 gauge Kanthal when I first got my AGA-T and I found it hard to get a stable coil. Of course I didn't know what I was doing either ;). When I switched to 28 gauge it became significantly easier. IMO the reason yours is not stable is because you have shorts through the wick. That will also make the resistance go down.

I don't know how you're getting rid of shorts. Here is a good video of someone who does it pretty much the way I do. You can slightly move a coil that is shorting and is being stubborn with a small screw driver while it's hot.

Good luck with it!

Here's a crummy pic of what I'm using now before I take it off when I'm done working. Yes its super sloppy :/

Ya, too many wraps. Be careful with wire tension when you re-wrap the new coil. Touching the wick, but not tight. I would try 4 or 5 wraps with 30 gauge and then pulse out the shorts.

Well, I'm still having no luck after trying everything you guys recommended. I'm going to try a cotton wick next. Insulaters are in tact, checked everything with a multimeter and the ohms still won't stay constant. Also the only way I'm getting stability is with a huge amount of wraps (which I'm not doing again). I'm gunna stop at my local vape shop tuesday and see what they can do. I've been doing this for a while with Mech mods and never had any issues. Now that I'm out of a Mech and trying to do this on my reg mod I'm running into issues. For now I give up. Thank you all for your help, I really appreciate it.
