After seeing my friend out with an e-cigarette last night, I told my husband about them and wants to get one to hopefully assit in his giving up of real cigarettes.

I was amazed how many different ones there are out there to buy.... and now I am very confused.

My friend got the v2009 from ecig-online
but I can't see any reviews on here about them.

I can see that alot of people have the 901 and have found them on e-cigs . co.uk

Can anyone advise what would be the best "first" e-cig to buy without forking out a fortune??

Thanks

I can save you the time from checking many posts like yours and it is usually the 901 that is recommended most of the time. I have had 2 901's in just under 4 weeks.

I got my 1st 801 which was also from e-cigs. You will see them listed as Classic. Although I have just got in from work, battery been charging all day, I have fired it up for the 1st time. I find in general use so far the 801 (classic) is much more comfortable to use. Some 901s come with a slimmer mouth piece but I have only had the chunkier square ones. Although they are ok I don't find them particuly comfortable to use.

Vapor from the 801 is not quite upto par with the 901 just yet but there is a "break in" period for the atomisers. I'm still working through the nasty primer.

The 801 is slightly larger than the 901 in length and diamater. This also means cartridge life and battery life may be a little more from the 801. I cannot confirm this myself as yet. I recall some members here not having much success with carts in 801's.

Either way, you can't go far wrong with either the 801(classic) or 901(mini) as a starter to see if it works for your hubby. Don't forget to grab a bottle of liquid before you hit the checkout. It really does make the difference when you can refresh the cartridges with 2-3 drops here and there throughout the day. Saves a lot of ££'s spent on carts.

I would advise against the super mini's as the cart life is a lot lower and they are fiddly to top up with the liquid holding area sunk deep within the mouth piece.

Good luck and keep us posted.

Edit. I have just checked out http://www.ecigonline.co.uk/buy_online.html and to me it looks like a 901 model. The carts look 901 too.

For cheap and the best e-cig i've tried so far, try Welcome to Absolutely eCigs! Buy e-Cigarettes/ Electronic Cigarettes Online Direct from Manufacturer! - Home

Recommended these to a few new members and they are enjoying their customer service very much. General rule is to stock up with kits, parts and carts and you'll see the savings....

A word of caution though, they may take a while to arrive. Be prepared to wait for more than a week imo although i got mine fairly quick.

Depending on where you are from, perhaps you can buy a basic kit from a local supplier and then make your 2nd, more informed purchase from them.
