i just used a basically brand new atty, and all of a sudden it tasted like burnt rubber. it wasnt that chemical burnt taste when the atty runs dry. at first thats what i thought it was, but then i re-dripped and the burnt rubber taste is still there.
right now its sitting on my desk, and im using an older atty.
any tips?

the atty is about 4-5 days old, and its been used almost no stop, havnt tasted anything until right now.

I use a 2pc Vapor King from Vapor4Life so I don't use separate atty's, but from what I have read in the forums, you may want to try cleaning your atty in some Everclear (pure grain alcohol). I guess they come coated with some type of primer fluid which is nasty tasting. You might want to give that a try. Just soak it for a while and then blow it out and let it dry before trying it again.

Hope this helps.

its about 5 days old. and ive been using it almost non stop, and havent really noticed anything until right now.
Okay, that is new information, and I have no way to explain your problem now.
:(

Maybe it is that the cartridge has run totally dry and a couple of drops in not enough.
Try to put a few more drops on the atty bridge, let them soak in for a few minutes, and try again.

HOPE THAT HELPS!!

I'm thinking maybe some filler material broke of and has hit the coil and burned. It can be a very nasty taste and may not go away until the atty has been cleaned or at least rinsed and blown out. I use the hottest tap water I can get in a cup and let it soak a little. I also roll the atty in the water to loosen anything. When I take it out of the water I blow from the battery end slowly, like a draw in reverse. I then stand them on the cart end on a paper towel. I usually let them stay that way for a couple of days. When I put it back on the battery, I put 3 drops of liquid on the bridge (I using 801 attys) and make sure my cart is full. I've managed to revive about a dozen attys this way. Some people will recommend boiling water, but I find that will remove the paint on my black ones.

Agreed... try dripping (if not an auto battery) for a good amount of time (even if not inhaling). This can work some of the fluid back into the atty. It's saved mine a time or two in the past.

Also, remember to not overwork the atty. I follow Kristin's vape...30 sec... Vape rule which has prevented the taste from occuring in my new attys. That, and keeping the attys wet.

sorry to add to this mystery, but i dont use carts,i direct drip, and then tailpipe it.
Then any number of things could be burning on the coil. A piece of lint, a bug, who knows. When I drip I put the mouthpiece on as a cap to keep unwanted dog fur out of my atty. :D

Is perhaps your Battery 'sticking' for a second or two too long?

I've just recently received a few bad Batteries and they've done this to me... I mean they drag OK for a few times, and then, without warning .. They almost INSTANTLY burn my attys and the taste is BEYOND burnt!.. (It's like melted RUBBER or something).

I took these same attys and put them on good ('older trustworthy') Batteries and within a few minutes they tasted fine again. (Do not inhale the "bad" stuff.. just keep letting the nasty burnt taste come off....

This 'may' be your problem......
