i just started using TC mod ytd, titanium on my ipv3li n subtank. i have no problem setting it up on my 1st try. however, after finishing my 1st tank of juice, my mod couldn't fire n keeps listing "dry coil" even though i refilled my tank n dripped on the coil.
pls help
i unscrewed the 510 because my tank was screwed too tight on the connector. after refilling n screwing back the subtank, i didn't know i have to set the resistance again. n so i get tis "dry coil, no liquid" stuffs showing on my screen till i decided to changed a new coil. the problem didn't go away after changing the 1st coil n setting the resistance. the coil n cotton was burned during the dry burn test(guessed i didn't wait for the temp to cool b4 setting resistance).did you unscrew the 510 connector ?
you can refill the subtank without interfering with the 510 connection.
3hrs? i only waited about 10min for the coil to cool down, maybe 10. the first attempt i burned my coil i probably waited about 5min b4 setting the resistance. u r probably rite, the coil didn't cool down enough b4 i set the resistance.I think possibly your setting your coils resistance when they still have heat in them. That messes it up sometimes on my ipv3 li vr. let the coil sit for 3 hours or so and get to room temp then set the resistance. Hope this helps.
i can't remember the ohms. one of the coil she be 0.36 phil the other is above 0.5.Your above the highest ohm limit for temp control.
I see no mention of what ohm reading your build is. You did mention you built a new coil. I'm going to assume you have a deck for this, right?
High ohm limit for TC might be ~.5 or even .45 on the Li, maybe even .9 I don't remember atm.
Understood.i can't remember the ohms. one of the coil she be 0.36 phil the other is above 0.5.
i don't have a deck, i use my mod to read.
yes, it's set for titanium. a friend build the coils for me, twisted. i thinked it's either becos i didn't wick it properly, or didn't wait for the coil to cool down enough b4 setting the resistance thats causing the problem. it does taste good, but i couldn't compared to nickel as i've never tried nickel build yet. however, one thing i realised since jumping on temp control is that it really consumed juice.Understood.
I've never used titanium coils, or built with it as of yet myself. I do read though it can be finicky.
Though, with the IPV3 Li, you make sure it is set for titanium, right? Not ni200
if u r interested in trying out titanium, here's a gd plc to get started: http://blog.craftvapery.com/joshs-definitive-guide-to-temperature-control-with-titanium-wire/Understood.

Thanks for the link. I will grab some titanium wire at some point and have a go at it.if u r interested in trying out titanium, here's a gd plc to get started: http://blog.craftvapery.com/joshs-definitive-guide-to-temperature-control-with-titanium-wire/
yea you for sure have to wait longer than that. these coils hold a lot of heat even if it feels cool to the touch it still might need to cool down. I just tested my coil (.273) trying to set it after 5 minutes of vaping and it registered as .301 I normally vape at 435 and had to turn it down all the way to 345 to get the same feel when i had the wrong resistance set.3hrs? i only waited about 10min for the coil to cool down, maybe 10. the first attempt i burned my coil i probably waited about 5min b4 setting the resistance. u r probably rite, the coil didn't cool down enough b4 i set the resistance.
yup, problem's solved. wasted 2 coils for the lesson thou lolThanks for the link. I will grab some titanium wire at some point and have a go at it.
Get that problem ironed out yet?
Glad the issue is resolved. Idea's as to what it was?yup, problem's solved. wasted 2 coils for the lesson thou lol
i waited at most 10min b4 setting the resistance, maybe tats y i get tis "dry coil, no liquid" stuffs. i still tht i purchased a faulty mod lol. i'll be more patient in the future.yea you for sure have to wait longer than that. these coils hold a lot of heat even if it feels cool to the touch it still might need to cool down.
