I have a guy that works for me who desperately wants to quit analogs & was very interested when I showed him my ProVari. I gave him the information needed to look several things up & even told him to come here to get some more information. He doesn't have a computer at home & isn't very computer "savvy" so I thought I would help him out.

I need some recommendations for him to get started with something reliable, easy to use, consistent & most of all, inexpensive. Of course, I am a ProVari guy so that was the first place I recommended him before he told me that he couldn't afford that right now. He wants one eventually but it's not in the budget right now. I told him that there are tons of options out there that are much cheaper to start with but would need to gather some more information about which ones are not going to waste his time & money.

Now I turn to all of you here on ECF to help him as you helped me when I was getting started. If it's possible, it would be nice to get the whole package from a single vendor to save him money on shipping & complication(it may be me making the order since he doesn't really use computers much). Please include links, overall price, pros/cons & any other specific information about the device & parts.

Thanks in advance to anyone/everyone that helps! :toast:

**EDIT** I might also add that he is a 1/2 to full pack a day smoker...only recently at around 1/2 pack as he is trying to cut down. My guess would be to have him start in the 16-18mg range? Correct me if that is wrong...

One of today's Vapor Joe Deals sounds like a good place to start. $30 for a 900mAh eGo Twist clone, a tank, and 10ml juice. Limited to 3 non-tobacco liquids though.

Another option is to troll for some $20 (or less) eGo starters that come with clearo/cartos; then buy a couple 15ml from Mt. Baker Vapor (my favorite) for another $10. iVape has a $15 starter that I've tried. Great value!:

Those options are definitely in his price range. How long can you go on the 900mah before needing to change batteries/recharge? I am used to using the AW 18650 2000mah batteries that I bought with my ProVari & they last for days...but again, I don't vape as often as most people, especially those trying to kick analogs. I want to make sure this experience is a pleasant one for him so that he sticks with it & kicks the cancer sticks. How many extra batteries would be good to have to ensure all day vaping?

900mah should last 10-12 hours for a beginner. An Ego twist style with a clearo (i love mini vivi novas) is an easy inexpensive way to start. I got my Dad the following and it's working good for him. He's 70 and not interested in "learning" so hes a good baseline. Everything was from myvaporstore.com
1 650mah eGo C twist
1 1000mah eGo c twist
3 mini vivi novas
1 ego style charger
1 USB wall adapter
1 ego thread cover for the vivi novas

4 30ML bottles of juice from mtbakervapor

This is a pretty good kit. I've got a few coworkers started with it. Luckily that shop is local for me. I'd start him on 24mg juice. I think Halo juices are really good for newbies, they seem to feel more like smoking than most juices. That shop carries Halo, I'd suggest Torque56, Freedom or Mystic if they like menthols.
