Part of the reason I suggested a Vamo as a sort of back-up to the smaller kits was that it looks "manly" (or ugly as sin, as some like to say) and is simpler than the Provari. I know that it will be a lot for him to take in. I smoked a pack of Lucky Strike unfiltered a-day for nine years. My favorite thing to do when people accuse me of being whimpy and it not being a "real cigarette" is to crank up my watts and dare them to take a big drag. Most of them are surprised at just how hard these things can hit.

I also agree that he shouldn't deny himself an analog if that's what he wants. vaping is not a punishment, it's a reward. Those amazing flavors will start making him not want any more of that bum-hole taste in his mouth.

Very good points! I got a kit from liberty flights a few years ago and it blew. I don't mean it shorted out, I mean it sucked...Well, these words don't work well when you're talking about ecigs do they? Lol. It was a riva 510 with the poly filled carts. Horrid! Are there kits that are out nowadays that are good? Not just ok, but good. I AM kind of sold on VV for him so that he can "adjust to taste"-Grimm Green. But, if there's something you would all recommend over a VV twist or kgo...?

Give me a bit, I'll look and see what I can find on sale for you.

PM Sent. I do indeed drive an 04 R32.

Also, back on track, I would suggest Mt. Baker Vapor. They've very affordable and don't have the horrid, IMHO, taste that ec-blend has. I recently ordered from them and will probably be doing a video review of the flavors/my journey/issues with horrid other vapes.

Thanks for the recommendation. I've been using blue mist for over a year now, and the price is low while quality is top notch. Give them a shot too. They ship next day and it only takes two days to get to me half way across the country. (I don't work for blue mist or anything.)
I will check out mt. baker, I've never even heard of them before.

When you post your video review, let me know! I'd be interested in getting your opinions.

My usual ideal starter setup recommendation, since we're raising the budget here:

I just ordered one of these today to replace a broken VV Gripper as my out-and-about mod to my home-bound Provari. Think he would go for it? $30 plus 4 batteries (uses 2 at a time).

I will check out Blue Mist when I get the funds. I'm so picky. It looks like they are about 1.5x as expensive as Mt. Baker. Still, very reasonable prices. I'll try and remember to pm you (if I haven't been approved by then) when I put up a video link. Thanks for checking out my blog and really, really hope we can help your friend. ECF is so full of amazingly knowledgeable people. I learn new things every day.

He's probably not gonna go for the V8(except in a car) :D The other link you posted about two twists/spinners and a mini vivi will probably work. I totally forgot that the vivi came in a mini! I was worried about the whole bulbous tank on top(vivi nova) and forgot that there's a mini! I'm thinking that 2 twists and mini vivi with ego skirt thingy will suit him well. Now, is there a kit that includes a charger somewhere?

Here, https://www.valleyvapes.com/eGo-Twist-650-Starter-Kit--Black_p_55.html $50, two batteries, VV, a case and accessories.
I think he'll want the smaller unit to get started, it just feel's better for a smoker to go to that. These are small and wont stick out like a sore thumb, and give him something to build on in the future.

Blue mist is more expensive than mt. baker?! I'll really have to check out mt. baker now! Do you know where their juice is made? I like to support US vendors if at all possible.

Haha, I sure did! Reading too many forums at once will get to ya I guess. That looks absolutely perfect for him. (Maybe a backup for me too! Lol.) Again, thank you all. Hopefully, we've gotten someone off the stinkies. I'll post back and let everyone know how it goes.

honestly if i were you, id buy him a eGo twist kit and a juice sample pack from HHV or AiV and give it all to him.
i mean sure you have to dish out some bucks but hey, youre really just helping him in the long wrong and he will only thank you both ways.

if you gave him all that theres NO WAY he wouldnt secretly try it out when hes at home.

curiosity killed the cat.

exactly! im not saying go spend $200 on the guy.
last time i checked i believe an eGo twist was like $20 for the battery itself(correct me if im wrong) and sample pack juices are like $10 depending where you order from. just remember get some high nic juice since hes a 2ppd smoker.

Howdy!!

I started with the v2 starter kit and while I upgraded to an ego after only 2 or 3 weeks those little v2's got me going. I honestly don't know if an ego or tube mod would have gotten me off the analogs. I was quite happy with my v2s in most respects. They were the right size for me cigarette-wise. The main reason I upgraded was bc I started watching youtube videos of people with ecigs. I was blowing out vapor and the people in the videos were blowing out VAPOR. In just a few short months I've transitioned from Camel Wides to V2's to Ego t's to Ego c twists to Kgo vv passthroughs to my shiny chrome Young June Lavatube 1.5t, (I love saying 'my shiny chrome Young June Lavatube 1.5t). The V2 was an expensive introduction to me for vaping but idk if I could have made the switch w/something that didn't feel/look like my (ex)beloved Camels.

1000mah twist is like $24 and the sample packs are about what you said. If it gets him off of real cigs, who cares what it costs. He'll owe me one, lol. Good call on the high nic, I didn't think about that.

Howdy yer self!

I get what you're saying, but my buddy does like gadgets, so I think he'll be ok with something a bit "alien" looking. Thank you for your insight though! Nice avatar btw, it's very red dirt. :D

Get him a twist and 2ohm long barrel hh.357
He'll be blowing out mad vapor lol
I have a provari and an regular 3.7v ego and I just tried my hh.357 on my ego and the results are basically identical to the provari

He IS a gun collector, something called the .357 might tickle his fancy lol.
