Hi all. My father-in-law is a hardcore, lifelong, 2-pack-a-day smoker who has tried quitting via various means over the years without success. He recently expressed an interest in trying vaping. I'm going to put together a kit for him but was wondering if the community had some good advice on converting heavy analog smokers to successful vapers.

I think the big key for him is going to be ease of use. I'm thinking I'll go with a Joye 510 starter kit, with cartridges. I think he'll be more receptive to auto batteries instead of manual, for instance. Any other good tips?

Thanks!

I was hardcore went i went with the eGo, i was 2 pad for 20 years at least. I sent some friends down to our local ecig shop which sells joye eGo's and they have been doing pretty good. They started by no pressure on themselves as far as quitting smoking altogether, and are gradually cuttin down to nothing. The product and reliability, I believe, will make the difference. Good luck to ya.

I'd like to add a part of my experience 8 months ago, and then how I approached my 76 year old Mother with an "ease of use" setup. I was 30 year 2 pack of reds a day guy. I serendipitously benefitted a huge amount by going 'cold turkey' for a week. It was EXACTLY a week. Like to the minute, I had, like many of us do---galvanized my resolve to really do it this time no matter what. ell what happened was better---the week off analogs had me CO cleansed enough, and tastebuds starting back enough--and Jonesing' for drug nicotine enough--for the eGo -T my wife had purchased for me 16 months before--with some pre-filed Joye 12mg tanks---to hit the sweet spot. It fufilled my craving fully--and I believe that was facilitated by the week without a sniff of smoke. The as I vaped the cravings away, I went weeks tapering down in mg thinking it was an avenue away from analogs--all those weeks I read learned about the degree of health harm reduction and felt my body heal. Now I vape 36 mg almost exclusively--all the time, and have never felt better. My physician, who is a cardiologist BTW--not out of necessity, but is--says I sound in my respiration--like I gave up smoking entirely over a year ago--.He told me this at six months into vaping with Mods like Vamos and evics, and Teslas…

now the moral of the story --you brought up VaperVapor--"ease of use"

my Mom I set up with two ego twists 1000mAh (always a spare handy), and 2 or 3 Kanger T3 BCC's with 36 mg Vannilla Bourbon Bean and another tobacco or 2 from Highbrow. (In a needle bottle). You so hit the nail on the head by bring up ease of use. She would never use it if she had to fill a little A-tank or eCab tank--never drip--non of it--and a logic or blu wouldn't satisfy her. I still program the clock on my Moms VCR (yes) every time the power goes out. She lives 100 miles from me. For new, older people who are going to have a shot using this as an aid--it has to be easy! Bravo for the topic!
