When I was first introduced to vaping I settled on a prosmoke, which was absolute .... and totally turned me off from vaping. I spent so much money and got so little satisfaction it was ridiculous.

127.69 (Original kit and some back up cartridges)
23.88 (More cartridges...already burned through 20, this was about a week into my prosmoke)
14.89 (More cartridges...)
49.08 (All my attys burned out, I didn't want to go back to smoking analogs so I spent $25 on shipping + some attys)
37.89 (Several months after going back to analogs and 2 weeks from my wedding date I decided to give it another try, bought some attys and cartridges)

If you add it all up that's $253 on (what I think) a crap product, with me blindly hoping that it would work and I'd suddenly get an amazing vape.

A week ago, I spent $35 on a eGo-T kit (a friend got me a good deal on a new one) and I've been puffing clouds of vapor for 7 days no worries. I'm not saying it has to be an eGo-T, I'm just saying please don't make my mistake. There are a lot of crappy products out there and don't let them keep taking your money or turn you away from vaping.

Just don't throw your old stuff away, soon you may well be rebuilding and then you'll kick yourself for not keeping any of it ;)

Every now and then I've been using my prosmoke to drip a new flavor so I don't waste a whole cartomizer on a juice I don't like.

Am I the only dumb!#$ here who wasted a ton of money on crap products and kept going back?

NOPE...... there are quite a few here. Don't think of it as wasted money.... it showed you the possibility of vaping, and led you here. Most of us have spent money on something that didn't work before we got here. As long as it got you here, and you have something that works to keep you off smoking a cigarette, then it was worth it.

Ever since I transitioned 100% to vaping (about 6 weeks ago) I've been buying from an abundance of vendors trying to find a few all-day vapes that I would really enjoy. After much searching (and emptying my wallet), guess what? I'm still searching. I think that vaping is so fascinating to me not only because it cold-cocked my smoking addiction in the gut, but that there are so many more choices that (quite frankly) is a bit overwhelming.

So yeah, I'm sure all vapors have thrown money out the window a bit here and there in the beginning. I'm sure it's just natural unless you have a mentor who knows where to look to get what you're yearning for.

BTW good call on trying again Escapereality. *bro fist*

I didn't waste a crap ton of money according to most people's standards, but to me it was. I started out with the 801, which just didn't work at all for me. Batteries could last anywhere from 10 minutes to 2 hours, always had to carry a bunch of spares. The attys would be fine, and then suddenly die, or some would develop a funky flavor even though I was only using 1 flavor of juice, while others were fine. To me, it was a horrible setup. Then I got 2 900 mah eGo batteries with a 5 pack of boge cartos, and I never looked back. Except once when I lost my batteries :(. I tried the ego-t, but didn't like it's inconsistency and leaking issues.

A lot of us have done that. And any money spent NOT on analogs is not wasted money. A lot of this hobby is trial and error until you find that vape that works best, but even then your taste changes and you're on to the next thing. I started with a kgo set with cartos and now I'm moving into the world of VV with tanks. I'm sure at some point I'll be dropping a wad of cash on a Provari too. LOL

We are 14 days in here and about $211 spent. Our gear includes 2 eGo Twist 650 batteries, 4 tanks, a few clearomizers, bunches of juice and cartos. Tonight we break even on what John had smoked in analogs and what we've spent. I keep telling myself that a Provari with a blemish is about 11 days of John smoking. I guess we're dealing with immediate gratification (get a vTube) or a little postponed gratification (get a Provari). I'm leaning towards Provari because I seriously love that he's vaping. This is the longest he has quit smoking in the 35 years of him smoking. If I have to shell out $180 for a Provari it is well worth it. I'm in a constant loop of dividing $11.97 a pack versus what equipment he'd like to have. It's amazing how that amount equals just a few days.

i seriously couldnt begin to add up the money i spent. i think it was all worth it though. i havent smoked since my first vape. i got a free disposable fin from a facebook promo. i had vaped before but never seriously. that disposable fin started it all. as soon as i took a drag i was hooked and of course there was no way i could wait on shipping cuz i wanted to quit smoking now so i went to my local smoke shop and spent 100 bucks on a cig2o kit and some cartos for it. ( i still have that kit and its a good little pv) from there i found this forum and people talking about the smokeless image volt. so i went there and got a kit and some cartos. loved it.

i wanted to try something other then a carto and someone told me about fluxomizers. bought 10 or 15 of them. yeah so not for me. there is a learning curve there and im in left field. so went back to my kanger cartos. which buy now i have bought 10 from vapor kings. learned i could wash them and have them good enough for my liking yay.

seen an add for the i taste. wow very pretty, i need one! got that with the tank and atomizer system which i love. also bought some tidys to try. leaked everywhere. again not for me. emailed pbusardo about his beloved boges. ordered a crap load. 3 packs from ccv and 5 from surevapes. love them when they arent turkey baconey. told phil i need waffle liquid to go with the turkey bacon.

got 2 texas tuff tanks from vapedudes. love them too.

then found the v4l omg all day. in PINK! yeah had to have that too.

moral of the story is thats a lot of money. and i prob could have bypassed more than half of it. but it is worth it to me. and now i have lots of stuff to share with people that want to try vaping. yayyy!

Oooh! Oooh! GIMike - what's that handsome-looking chrome set-up in your avatar? Very simple and elegant!

(And yes, I've certainly wasted money; mostly on juices. Ah, well. Better than wasting it on smokes, I figure.)

It's an eGo twist 1000 mah battery from FSUSA with a DCT tank from crystal clear vaping. Apparently I'm the only one who's bought a tank from them lol. They had the prepunched cartos for fairly cheap, and it's my first tank like this, so I wanted to get them all at once. Thanks though, glad you like it :D

Well, they look GREAT together. And I might just be the second person to buy a talk from them (thus proving, once again, that wasting money is actually an extremely easy thing to do).

:)

Getting started vaping does take some time to understand what is good and what is not so good. I'm sure we all have wasted some money on items that didn't work the way they said, or the way we thought they would. I'm sorry you wasted so much money. Everyone he will be happy to help you with any questions you might have. So don't be shy :)

Yep, I think 99% of us are obliged to WASTE the first $500 just trying to find 'the target'! Just keep at it, and you'll find what you're looking for. Once THAT happens, you'll be in a position to recoup a lot of expenses, in spite of the initial lost bucks.

That reminds me...I just bought about $100 in juice and supplies, and need to update my signature. I wasted hundreds in the beginning, but after a little more than 10 months into vaping exclusively, I've only spent about 50% compared to the 'old' cost of analogs (they're more expensive today).

I love Ego batts with clearomizers! :D
