53 year old Grandmother here. Have been trying to quit the analogs for a few years. quit twice for a year in the past, mainly with the nic gum. but always eventually felt that something was missing and went back to the stinkies.
Then came Heart Disease and COPD. Now it's serious, I really need to quit. But how do you do that if you're a 3 pack a day smoker, and started smoking at 12 years old?
My 33 year old daughter, bless her little heart...she discovered vaping and really got into it, researching and purchasing pen batteries and then moving on to VV mods and then Mech Mods. she stayed on me, both my husband (her step father) and I...using her devices in our presence, sending me videos of the new things she bought and how they worked, sending me links to various articles and websites.
Then we discovered hubby had Emphysema. Now it's REALLY time to find a way. So we agree to try the vaping.
Everytime I tried to inhale on it, I'd get a coughing fit. I finally figured, I'd have to quit smoking completely to be able to use the Mod. So hubby and I set a quit date, got rid of all our tobacco, rolling tubes, electric rolling machine ashtrays..etc. There was no turning back. I pretty much dreaded that day arriving. I tried to put it out of my mind as it was 3 weeks into the future. As the day approached, I felt like a family member was going to pass away soon, I really didn't want to lose the pleasure and satisfaction I got from those addictive cancer sticks.
The day arrived, and by that night, I was down to only 3 cigs. I made up my mind to smoke them and then that would be it. after all, I had no choice. I'd sold or given away everything we had.
Started out with Halo batteries, then within a month she had sold me at a fraction of the cost, her pink ProVari Mini. What a difference it made! the Halo e-cig batteries were not doing the trick for me, the ProVari was much better, but the cost of the atomizers was worrisome. Both hubby and I are on disability so finances were an issue.
Then my daughter moved me up to a V3Tronix. again, she sold it to me at a fraction of the cost. I was helping her finance new purchases as she researched, and she was selling me barely used items for cheap!
She taught me how to build coils and briefly explained ohms law, and also referred me to Youtube.
I am now building coils for both hubby and myself, and researching everything for hours and hours everyday. What a world of difference! my Tronix has made in my life! Neither of us has had a cigarette since April 3rd, 2014. and we STILL can't believe we have absolutely NO desire to go back to them!
I did have some cravings the first month and part of the second, but they were fleeting and went away pretty quickly with the Tronix. Now I'm into this over 3 months and so happy I let it work for me! I have no cravings for Analogs at all. Love tinkering with my RBA's and doing research.
My next calling will be to make my own e-juice, Currently reading everything I can find on the subject. Also following with much interest the Threads on the FDA and all that's going on there. last night in the wee hours, I found the thread on the TMA conference and spent several hours listening to videos and reading.
vaping has my support and I'm here to add my story to thousands of others. I am "ONE MORE" that will not die from the conspiracy that is Big Tobacco and the Government!
