Hey, All! New from PA

Hey, All! New to the forum. I'm from PA. I've been a smoker for ~15 years and started vaping last November to try to quit. I only smoke real cigarettes at home - moved back in with my Mom 3 years ago while going back to college full time. I'd vape at home, but Mom thinks it's worse than cigarettes, so I'm easing into it to go easy on her! lol. Like vaping better than smoking, though. Tastes better. I don't smell like an ash tray. Right now I'm using a Vision Spinner and Kringle's Curse 18mg. Going to drop back to less nicotine soon!

Well that'd darkly amusing. I hate to tell you to lie to your mom -- but in all honesty, you could probably tell her you've quit & vape in private reasonably without her knowing, and come out ahead in health.

Welcome neighbor! Sorry to hear that Mom thinks it's worse. I think she may have caught another news cast that bashes vaping. I actually had a guy say to me last night that he thought that ecigs had thousands of chemicals in them and they are worse than cigarettes. I told him that you're smoking all the chemicals (as he proceeded to light up a smoke). I told him to stop watching the news.

Welcome neighbor! Sorry to hear that Mom thinks it's worse. I think she may have caught another news cast that bashes vaping. I actually had a guy say to me last night that he thought that ecigs had thousands of chemicals in them and they are worse than cigarettes. I'm sure she'll find out soon enough. I'll still use it outside just out of respect for her, but it's funny, I feel like I'm 12 trying not to get caught with something I'm not suppose to have. lol! She does watch a certain news channel (which I shall not name) religiously and a certain show host touts it as horrible and bad for you, so that's where she gets her ideas. I use to use a Blu e-cig and could use it in the house when she wasn't around, but not sure how much I could get away with with my current setup.

So a funny thing happened...
I accidentally got locked out on the back porch - for some reason the sliding glass door locked on me. So I had to call Mom to come down and let me in. So after standing out there freezing, I said, "I don't suppose you'd let me use an eCig in the house, would you?" She said, "Do you have one?" I said, "Yes. I bought one in December to try to quit since I can step down the nicotine levels." Then I showed it to her. She asked if it smelled. I said it smelled like candy cane (I use Kringle's Curse). And surprisingly there was no argument...she said I can use it in the house! Totally shocked! But also very happy! No more freezing while at home! WOOHOO!
