Hey all. I am pretty new to vaping. Have only been doing it for about 10 days and haven't smoked since. I do have some questions regarding vaping that are a little confusing as well as concerning to me and just looking for clarification. Firstly, I am using a KangerTech EMOW 1300mAh that has 3 settings 3.7, 4.2, and 4.8v. I also have an extra vision spinner battery that adjusts from 3.3-4.8v and inbetween as well as a Protank 3 with 1.8 ohms atomizers, 1.5 ohms, and 2 ohms atomizers; I just figured i would get a variety to test, lol. The juices i have are 18mg nic and 12 mg nic at 70/30. I am noticing, when using 1.8 ohms at 3.7v, I am getting headaches and feeling dizzy when vaping after 2 puffs. I do 3-5 sec slow puffs and inhale. Anything longer and it really burns lungs. Not sure if i am doing something wrong? are you only supposed to puff once or twice when needed or do you puff it the same amount as you would an analog? oh i used to smoke a pack and half a day if that helps. I have tried lower settings and its just like smoking air. I have also tried to attach the air valve from the original tank that came with the kanger but i cant seem to get it to work. I wonder if the vapor is to strong? or maybe nic to high? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Also wondering if this kit is a good mod kit. Oh also, I got a vaping power chart from a friend but in the instructions that came with the kit it says the 1.8ohms can handle 3.7 to 5.5v but in the chart contradicts that and says the 1.8 ohms is only green up to 3.7 so kinda confused as the chart says any higher will burn juice or coil.

First of all, 18 mg nicotine strength is reasonable for a 1 1/2 pack per day smoker.

1.5 and 1.8 ohms will provide a warmer vapor and to some could appear to be harsh on the throat or lungs. Try a higher resistance atomizer (2.0 oh or higher) for a cooler smoother vape.

Slow gentle draws are better than harder draws for the equipment. Inhale into the mouth and let it sit there for a second for maximum absorbtion of the nicotine and allowing the vapor to cool, before inhaling into your lungs. Most of the nicotine is absorbed in the mouth and throat, not in the lungs with vapor.

The Safe Vaping Power Charts were designed for cartomizers a couple of years ago, and bear no comparison to clearomizers which you are using. Follow the recommendations of the manufacturer of you tanks.

Remember to drink plenty of water. The eliquid and vapor dries out the mucous membranes in your mouth and throat.

Lower resistance (1.6ohms) heats up quicker and gives a warmer vape, but causes your battery to work harder (shorter vape time between charges).
Higher resistance (2.2ohms) takes longer to heat up, but gives a cooler vape and makes your battery last longer.
When adjusting your voltage settings on your batteries, start low and gradually increase to test at each "stop" - taking a few puffs to see if you like it. Stop at a voltage that you find satisfying. If you start to get harsh/dry hits back it down a little and give a few "primer puffs" (puff on the device, but do not push the button to activate the battery) to get eliquid back into the coil head, re-saturating the wicks.
There are many different inhale techniques, most people with setups similar to yours tend to use whats called a "mouth inhale" similar to what battidue suggested: pull the vapor into your mouth (similar to smoking a cigar), then a quick inhale to get it into your throat before exhaling. The mucus membranes in your mouth and nose will absorb the nicotine, pulling it into your throat is to accomplish the "throat hit" that many smokers crave from cigarettes.

Dissyness/nausea is usually a sign of too much nicotine or what we call "Over Nic"ing.
To get through the liquid you have you can try a higher ohm coil, which will vaporize the liquid slower and give you a cooler vape, as well as taking smaller puffs.

Absorption of nicotine through the mucus membranes is much less efficient than smoking a burning cigarette. From the science I've seen, It takes 30 minutes for the nicotine to be fully absorbed, where its more like 5 minutes with a traditional cigarette. Dont try to over compensate for not getting the instant gratification that you would with a cigarette, just take a few puffs and relax for a bit, then take a few more. You'll learn how to gauge your cravings, and when its time to take another vape. The key is dont wait until you are about to go mental before having another cigarette :)
Everyones body chemistry is different, and I'm sure that generality applies here too, this may not be exactly true for you, but take it easy and try to relax! :)

thx to all for replying glad to have found this forum and vaping as i have wanted to quit analogs for a long time but have never been able to until now. I think i understand now. The lower the ohms the harsher the smoke and the higher the ohms the lighter the smoke. Not sure what a "dry hit" is though. I would assume it is one that produces no vape?

A dry hit is when the wick is dry.
Basically you get burning hot kind of vape; it's when the wicking is too slow and the coil gets to hot and instead of vaporizing the liquid, some of the liquid burns and produces toxic taste.
