Sometimes it's easy to forget the reasons for a holiday. I want to let all the vets on ECF know that your sacrifices are very much appreciated.

Any computer folks on here? Gamers? I played a game years ago online called Fighter Ace. Made some good online buds. I spent hours and hours on different video drivers, settings, modem settings, game settings, on and on. At first it was fun, learning the ins and outs. I feel I started doing the same thing with the ECIgs. So, it is with sadness I confess, I put my tank system in the vise and squooshed it, I kept reading and going back to try and get it right, I just could not get it to work. Well, work the way I wanted it to. Sure a couple hits would be ok but it had to rest and then it would leak. The wicks weren't doing the job, I replaced them then it was better, then it clogged up, then leaked some more. Then I says to myself, ENOUGH, LOL...I'm drippin' when I can and cartoing when I can't. All is good...deep breath....whew....

I would like to thank all the Vets who served and defended this great Nation. You don't know how much you are appreciated.

I also want to thank all of the current men and women who are the armed forces for dedicating their time to see to it that we stay a free country now and in the future.

Happy Memorial Day Everyone!

Please do not take this the wrong way... but tomorrow is for those that lost their lives in the quest for and continuance of our freedoms. Being a Nam vet with 20 years served, I do truly cherish the growing appreciation for all vets, past and present. But Memorial Day is not for my service; I came home alive. Armed Forces Day, July 4th and Veterans Day is when I celebrate.

Tomorrow is my day for grateful grieving and Taps...

For many it seems that Memorial Day is a chance to get a away from the regular routine, camp, fish, get out, you name it. People need these breaks without a doubt. However I found an article this evening which was really an eye opener to what memorial day is really all about. Words can't explain how grateful I am for those who have fought for my freedom! Thanks to those out there for making my life and millions of others better.

Abe Katz from SLC relates his story.

Well said, Iffy.

Memorial Day is a day for honoring and remembering soldiers who have fallen in service to our country. For me, it is a solemn day to reflect upon the many freedoms that I enjoy, and a day for expressing my deepest gratitude for those who have sacrificed their lives to protect them.
