I have been smoking roughly a pack a day for over 23yrs. About 6 months ago, my doctor suggested I try to cut back or quit smoking. Since then, I almost doubled my smoking.The thought of quitting was actually making me smoke on average 40 cigarettes a day!
I was at my camp one weekend and my uncle came by with his e cigarette. I tried it. I kinda liked it. So I ordered my own off ebay, got some 18mg nicotine e juice from a local vendor. I started this on Sept. 4th. I'm down to about 5 cigarettes a day at this point. Tomorrow I will go buy another type of ejuice so I can rotate and maybe get off the cigs entirely. My goal is to gradually reduce the nicotine levels until I reach 0mg and then hopefully quit altogether! The great news is that with each cigarette I smoke I realize how disgusting it is and how it is no longer enjoyable.Now it's a matter of getting over the psychological need to light one up.
I must say I am breathing better! There is no more gurgling in my chest and after exercise I get my breath back much faster! I also don't wake up coughing up a lung anymore! I know I am still using a product which is not "perfectly safe" but I think it has to be a better alternative to the cigarettes. It's only been 10 days and my body is already showing me a difference. And I really can't believe I've only had 5 cigarettes today!!!!
