Hey everyone! New and got a couple of questions.

I'm new to this and so far have been vaping for about 2 months. First I bought an Innokin Itaste MVP and decided to upgrade to a Sigelei Z-max. Love both of them so far and my Itaste is my backup. After doing much research I still have some questions.

First I tried vivi nova tanks and didn't like the hot vapor and I kept getting this weird burnt taste in my mouth no matter which ratio PG/VG juices I used. I switched under recommendation of Bocavapes to the Kanger EVOD and am happier with it vaping 50/50 juice. I still was getting a little interesting plasticky flavor after using the EVOD for about a tank or so. At first its great, then after a tank the flavor starts to go away and the weird plasticky flavor comes back. I usually vape on mean mode between 5-7 watts.

-Under recommendation of Bocavapes I switched to cotton wicking in my EVODs. Any tips with using cotton wicking? (I buy the sterile hypoallergenic cotton from CVS. Should I get something else?

-People have also recommended to try a protank. From what i understand, a protank and an EVOD are pretty much the same thing and will turn turn vape similarly. Correct me if I'm wrong.

-does anyone know anything about the differences between the protank and the vision victory tank?

-Should I switch to 3mm silica wick when rebuilding atomizers for more flavor? Whenever I build and EVOD I use 32AWG (.2 mm) kanthal wire with 6 wraps and get about 2.5 ohms.

-What is the difference between how different (higher vs. lower ohm) atomizers vape? Is one cooler or more flavorful or what? I understand ohms law but do not understand how it affects flavor or vapor given the correct voltage/wattage settings.

-Should I just cut to the chase and buy a rebuildable tank system? If so, what is oxidizing? how is it done? and which one does everyone think is best for a semi-newbie. (I like to tinker if that helps.)

And lastly...

-Who is the best online vendor with the best prices and genuine brand name parts? myvaporstore? madvapes?

-what about for juice? I like 50/50

I am asking all of these questions before I place an order tonight or tomorrow. Help me out guys.

when it comes to protank and evod yes they are similar and will produce the same amount of performance, however the draw on the protank is rather airy so people have been using the evod head in place of the protank coil head.

with regards to rebuilding i use 3mm silica on my protank because it stops me from having to use a "top" to prevent leaking. i find it also absorbs more juice so dry hits become more of a rarity. of course this is based on your ability to build a good coil.

Watched that 2 weeks ago. Got a lot of good information from that video but it doesn't answer all of my questions.

I am still slightly confused about RMS vs. Mean.

- Make sure it's 100% cotton. Burn it - if the residue is just ash with no black plastic goop your good.

- Protank and an EVOD are very similar. The protank has a pyrex tank which won't dissolve from certain juices. It holds more juice and has an airier draw - otherwise they use the same atomizer/head system.

- The Victory Tank is essentially a top-coil version of the Protank.

- Should I switch to 3mm silica wick when rebuilding atomizers for more flavor? I don't think size matters for flavor, maybe it wicks better. What happen to the cotton?

- Higher ohms will vape cooler than lower ohms. Too hot and some juices will taste burnt, too cool and some juices won't taste at all - find a happy place in the middle.

- Protanks, Evods, Victories are all capable of being rebuilt.

- I've been happy with MyVaperStore. No experience with madvapes.

How about gotvapes? I am thinking about buying an octopus as my first RBA. looks pretty straightforward to build and gotvapes has all of the stuff for a good price.

the octopus is pretty good, but ive had a couple accidents pulling the top cap off trying to get it out my pocket. Im also thinking about getting a rebuildable with a third post so i can run dual coils. It seems like dual coils are the hottest thing around right now. you might want to check this out. they also sell resistance ribbon which is hot right now too.

Hey there!
If I were you I would turn your device to RMS setting. In my experience that will give you a better tasting vape. Also you should do the silica wick, I feel that it tastes better and you get that burnt flavor less often. I use 5 wraps of 32g but that is totally up to your taste. Have you considered that maybe it is the e liquid you are vaping that is giving the funny taste? Maybe try a new vendor or some new flavors. Protank's and Evod's are great but if you like your own drip tip, you should try the x10 from fasttech. Cheap, uses evod head, and you can use your own tip.

When it comes to the triple post RDA's which post is the positive one? Is it pretty universal which one is positive or is it different on all of them?

I want an easy rebuildable RDA (as I'm new to this) that is sturdy and won't fall apart in my pocket or something like that.

Hi mazelmazel, I want to address your juice question. If you are looking for a company to make your own juice, I would recommend WizardLabs. They offer a lot of great flavors at really good prices. I used them back when I first began vaping, thinking I would just mix all my own juice. I quickly found that to be more of a hassle then what it was worth. Currently, I am a huge fan of United Vapors. I haven't tried all their juices yet, but I just got 3 flavors in Lady Liberty, 'Revolver', and All American. They are all 50/50 like you are looking for and the Revolver is super good. I can't put my finger on what is in Lady Liberty, but it's like a creamy waffle flavor. All American is like a pineapple peach. Anyhow, check those companies out. Might be exactly what you are looking for!

Thank you brian3501. I found a good place to get juices that I like. Its called bocavapes. My favorite are blue lollipop which is like a blue jolly rancher. Another is irish cream which is a very nice flavor to vape in the morning. I'll definitely keep those places you mentioned in mind if I ever feel like trying something new.

I ordered from stormy's vapor cellar. Got myself an igo-w and an octopus. also ordered some ekowool wick and some 32 gauge kanthal wire to get me started in rebuildables. What do you guys think of that purchase to get me into rebuildables?

no more spending money for a little while haha.
