Well I'm pretty new to vaping. I have a G1 Pen vape i got from my liquor store and i recently got a new tank from my vape store. It is a "bottom feeder" i think the called it an evod tank. Anyhow, love it its great. sometimes i take my battery off the carger though and i get no vape, really weird. Like its not burning or something. Take it off, unscrew the atomizer and look around, put it back and its alright.

guys at the vape store recommended a 1.8 ohm atomizer head. i swapped out the stock 2.4 ohm head and now no vapor. no burning. really really weird. put the 2.4 ohm back in and it worked fine. anyone have any ideas?

Hola! Welcome to ECF =D

It sounds like that 1.8ohm head is shorted or dead. I'd stop trying to use it, take it back to the shop, and ask them to multimeter it or atleast test it on their APV. Continued efforts to use it may result in battery damage if it's a short. It could be something as simple as the firing pin needs adjusting too if it's not making contact but measures at 1.8ohms when tested.

Also if they haven't already make sure they show you how to properly install it, not that you're a drooling idiot or anything, but you can never be too sure if you're doing something just the right way.

Depends on the type. I recommend doing a YouTube search. That's what I do.

is there anything you need to do to make a new atomizer head ready for use? my buddy has an ego type battery called spider or something and it works on his. and my other colleague has an "ego c"? and it works on his. not sure what the reason is for that

Just some crazy old lady happily vaping away.

You may have a bad atty. It happens. If this is the case just toss it and get another atty setup. If you've got a multimeter, you can use that to check the output of it. If it's running on too low a res, it can damage your battery. You could have a short or something

But that may not be the problem. It might be your battery, and that's what I'm thinking if you're having this problem right off the charger. Charge your battery, and try again with the 2.4. If you have the same problem, it's the battery. And an easy fix. If this is the case, you've compressed your connection plate. This can happen if you screw on your juice delivery system and/or charger too tight. This is why I suspect that's the problem, since you mentioned this seems to be a problem straight off the charger. I suspect your compressing the plate when you screw on the charger. It's not hard to do, that plate sits on a floating silicone gasket.

If this is the problem, just get a paperclip and bend the end into a hook shape. stick it down there and gently pull the plate up. Problem solved. And it goes both ways. You've got the same sort of gasket and plate on your Evod. Try wiggling it around a bit too. If all else fails, you can disassemble the atty set up to be sure that the connection plate wires are where they're supposed to be. But to be honest, the heads are pretty cheap....in my opinion if it's not an easy fix, it's not worth trying to.

ok, well the problem resolves itself in a few minutes really. I put the 2.4 head back on and try a couple times and then it works. just not with the 1.8

also cant find any spec on my G1 pen. maybe i need a better battery to use the 1.8? the 1.8 works on two other ego type batteries in my office, but not on two others. so 4 batts total, two work and two dont
