Hey everyone, new around here and to vaping. I've been a smoker since I was 9 years old, graduated to a pack a day when I was 14, and finally at 28 I've seen the light.

I just got a Riva 510 from Liberty Flights today with a pack of cartomizers, an atomizer and drip tip for testing flavors, and 5 different juices.

The juices I picked up were Hotel, Apple, Watermelon, Cappuccino, and Menthol. I don't care much for the Cappuccino, and the menthol lacks the throat hit I was looking for, but I'm loving the Hotel, Apple and Watermelon.

Anyways, I just wanted to say hey, and work on getting my 5 posts so I can actually communicate with some people. :)

P.S. Big thanks to geek_kitteh for helping me get sorted out on which model I wanted, and monolith for helping me get the cartomizers filled and start vaping. 8 hours since my last cigarette, and counting!

Welcome to ECF and hang in there, it will get easier and soon, you will stop counting the hours.... LOL! I took a look at the Riva 510 and it looks like a pretty solid start-up set (don't own that one myself, never seen one up close, so I don't know for certain). ........ :vapor:

Thanks for the warm welcome. :)

I actually tried making the switch a week ago with a $15 disposable from the local head shop that came with 10 cartridges, and after 3 days it gave out on me. Once it did that I went back to feeling like bleh and smoking a pack a day again. Still have a pack with 2 cigarettes missing out of it, but planning on giving them to my mother-in-law to get them outta the house.

I think my Riva is really an eGo. The instruction manual that came with it says eGo on the back, and doesn't actually mention Riva anywhere on it. LF wanted $15 less so I spent the extra money on the accessories. Ended up with the white model and a nice carrying case since they were out of the stainless steel and blacks. I'd rather be tobacco free now than wait until LF gets in a new shipment of the colors I'd prefer to have.

Looking forward to hanging around, and introducing more smokers I know to vaping. My brother-in-law is already asking about it, so once we both get some free time I'm gonna let him go taste testing.

One question I do have is about the longevity of your bottles of juice? How long do they typically last? I bought the 5ML's to keep from wasting too much money if I didn't like them, but plan on buying some 30ML's of the flavors I do like.

Don't worry, you'll end up with several mods. It's just 'one of those things'. Lol

You made a great choice going with the 5 ml bottles of juice. This will allow you to test a bit, but still let steep if it's not quite right the first try. Plus, it gives you the opportunity to find out if you like the juice as is or if you need extra flavor, different PG/VG mix, something added, etc.

Once you find your sweet spot, grab a big bottle and vape on!

I vape anywhere from 2-6 mLs a day and rotate through a hand full of clearos with a variety of juices.

Best thing about juices... you won't run out of things to try for a long , LONG time. Lol

Liters? That's prepared. :) I started with 18mg and am planning on cutting down some on my next batch. The first few pulls I took off my PV gave me a nice little head buzz, had to sit down for a second lol! I love your dog, too!

Annnd another question... do you guys constantly vape? Or is there a sweet spot where you can take a certain number of pulls and leave it alone for an hour or so, like cigarettes? I'm feeling a bit nervous about having a constant stream of nicotine in my system, compared to the ups and downs of an analog, especially when it comes to weening myself off the nicotine completely?

I do find that I seen to constantly have a Volt in my hand or very nearby. Not strictly out of necessity, but rather that I enjoy it.

I had the same concerns, so I bought some low nic juices (6 mg) to use during my chain vapes.

Clearos are easy to tote and easy to change, so I always have a variety if I need a change or get a little edgy for fine higher nic.
