Hey I'm new I am vapin on a eviction which I love but my rsst does not get along very well with it it ran great for about a week then just took a crap on me so I'm thinking goin mechanical any ideas something new out yet?
I can't exactly say that I disagree with this post, but I don't completely agree with it either. While all the things that were said are true, i.e. what you need to know about wicks, coil building and Ohm's law, I don't think that's a good reason to wait. There are dozens, if not hundreds of videos on youtube from pretty well know reviewers and how-to folks on, well, how-to do all the things you need to know how to do as an owner/user of a RDA/RBA. I picked up my basic knowledge of coil buildings and some of the math from youtube vids. I learned a bit about wicks from the live chat here on ECF and a bit from the shops that I bought my supplies from. I got down and dirty with Google and the intarwebz in general to learn what I didn't already know about Ohm's law, (I couldn't remember the formulas) and the rest was fairly basic. Some common sense and a wee bit of careful trial and error got me to where I needed to be. If that doesn't get you to where you need to be, there are a bajillion people on ECF that will help you figure out what's going on and how to fix it. Quick word of advice though, we need to know exactly what's going on, as in what way your device "took a crap on you". If we know what kind of crap your device is taking it's a lot more likely we'll be flushin' what you're poopin', if you get my drift. Good luck! May your clouds be massive and your flavors fantastic!Eviction? Are you referring to an eVic?
I'm just not sure that a rebuildable RSST going bad on you is reason to ditch the eVic. Coil may simply have gone bad. That's why they're rebuildable... so you can put a new fresh one in there and get the same great performance/taste/vapor.
Mechs are great too, but I think for new vapers I would highly recommend sticking with your APV until you have much more knowledge of certain aspects of rebuildables like A.) How to wrap your own coils, B.) What wicks to use, C.) Intermediate knowledge of Ohms Law, D.) Some good AW IMRs or Panny Hybrids with high amp limit.
Perhaps you could elaborate how your rsst "took a crap?" (heh heh) Plenty here can help you figure out what might have gone wrong better based on more details if provided.
Vape well, vape often!![]()
Ahh yea, that makes sense. I'm having a similar problem with my RDA because I ordered 28GA Kanthal to build micro coils... well my RDA is TINY, Optimus S from Madvapes. It's just too dang small to fit a micro coil in there without shorting out by touching the sides. Anyway... What gauge wire are you using? Because your problem could be easily remedied by getting 30GA or 32GA Kanthal. Less wraps, higher ohms, less chance of hotspots.
eBay is a great place to purchase Kanthal Wire, I buy mine from TEMCo supplier. Great prices and fast shipping.
I have plenty of cape shops around just they really just have the basic stuff which is great but I need more if you know what I mean I've quit smoking for about a month now and tried another cig it was terrible so vaping is my new addiction/hobby lol
Sorry for my poor grammar too lazy
That's funny I go to madvapes just about 2 times a week here in nc the one in Charlotte

Not a problemAs a recommendation I highly suggest you check into purchasing a Protank II to use on your eVic. I use my PT2 on my Smoktech SID and eGo 650mah and couldn't be happier with the performance. It's FAR more reliable than the Protank I. Little or no leaking. Huge clouds. Huge flavor. And... it's cheap!
At the very least it would be a good addition to your collection and as an added bonus you'd have another tank you could put a flavor in, just in case you decide you want to switch flavors on-the-fly. Snag some 2.2 or 2.5 Ohm replacement heads for just $5.75 for a 5-pack and you'll have at least a month or two of good vaping on your Protank II. The heads are also rebuildable, but you need some 32GA and a little (or a lot) of practice to get it down well. Search YouTube for Kanger Protank Rebuilds, plenty of videos showing exactly how to do it. Quite easy actually.
Hah, cool! I wish I lived close enough to them to do thatMadVapes is a great supplier with some great deals. I've placed multiple orders with them and couldn't be happier with what I received. A++
@FlavorFog I wasn't saying he should wait to get into mechs, only that he can get very good performance out of the gear he has already with a few minor purchases without investing $80-$150+ in a whole new setup. Who knows, maybe he'd even be happy with his eVic if he can find a delivery device that works well on it. I always recommend the cheaper solutions over the more expensive ones, and the Protank II definitely fits the bill.
Currently it's one of the most popular, cheap, and stellar performing tanks on the market. Takes a bit getting used to, but well worth it.
