So, I am 24 years old and I have been a smoker for little over 7 years of my life. Five days ago, I finally said to myself this just isn't worth it. After failing at the patches/gum/cold turkey/etc before, I knew I needed something else.

At my local smokes 4 less shop, I bought Crown Seven Starter Kit for $15.00. It came with two batteries, 10 cartomizers, Case, USB and Wall charger. I figured for that price, why not! (On the website for the exact same thing is $80 something dollars LOL)

I can proudly say today, I am 5 days smoke free! I know eventually I will want to move away from cig-a-like to something can hold a battery longer then 2 hours. Hence, this is why I am posting.

I would like to buy something that is as easy to refill/charge/no assembly required like this crown seven. It doesn't have to look like a cigarette but I want it to have a lot longer battery and having more vape and stronger hits would be nice.

What are some of the models you guys suggest and websites that are nice and good priced? Really, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you guys so much! Proud to be apart of the ECF community

I second this, it's how I learned and I put together a kit that worked for me.

Also RipTrippers has some great reviews that have helped me.

Theres a TON of garbage juice and equipment and just flat out scams out there, and the reviews from these guys helped me from getting ripped off so far. The key, In my opinion is building a stable of reliable online vendors that you use for Juice and Mods, unless you have a brick and mortar near you, but even then, the ones where i live sell a bunch of junk too. Educate yourself, this forum (Ive been lurking here for months but decided to become a member today) and the aforementioned vids are great tools.

Im new here to ECF too, but welcome anyway!

Welcome to the forum. You need better batteries for sure. A two hour charge makes vaping a big pain in the .... for anyone. And, you are probably new enough where talk about an advanced personal vaporizer (APV) is premature. So, you need a stick battery.

Stick Batteries, known as eGo Style Batteries (entry level, backup, out and about, stealth, primary):

Trusted Vendors shown, but NOT selected based on pricing, you'll still need to shop around. You will need device specific battery chargers (which often come in kits) for these devices. Also, kits often provide two batteries allowing for simultaneous vaping while charging of the backup. Each of the eGo style batteries below have both 510 and eGo thread connections. As such, they are compatible with most toppers, including most Kanger products. Additionally, each of these devices has at least variable voltage, which allows you to adjust and regulate the battery output voltage, providing customizable vapor production, temperature, throat hit, and finding the "sweet spot" for your juices to suit your individual vaping preferences:

1. Innokin iTaste 3.0 vv/vw, usb passthrough, ohms reader, etc. - https://ivape.net/index.php/iTaste-VV-3.0-Variable-Wattage-Device-Pearl-Chrome.html (variable power, LCD display, +/- buttons, Usb passthrough, 3.3 - 5.0 volts, 6.0 - 11.0 watts, 800mA
2. SLB KGO VV - KGO V.V. 650mAh (LCD display, +/- buttons, Usb passthrough, 3.0 - 6.0 volts, 650 - 1200mAh)
3. Vision Spinner - Vision Spinner VV eGo Battery 1300mAh (3.3 - 4.8 volts, 1300mAh)
4. Joyetech Twist - eGo Twist 1000 Mah Battery in Black (3.2 - 4.8 volts, 650 - 1000mAh)
5. Smoktech Winder - Smok eGo Winder 900mAh Variable Volt Battery (3.2 - 4.8 volts, 900 - 1100mAh)

Best Starter Combo kit out there, imho, provides two batteries, i.e., the twist and/or spinner, and two toppers, i.e., the eVod and/or MT3s, among others: http://www.myvaporstore.com/Vision_Spinner_Joye_Ego_C_Twist_Combo_p/vvs-c.htm. Recommend one eVod and one MT3s topper with one Spinner and one Twist to start. This way you get four different products with the kit and allowing you to experience four different setups, as you figure out your preferences and what works best for you. BTW, you can spend less and get a fixed voltage battery, but you'll have much less vape flexibility and it won't be long before you'll want to upgrade to variable voltage, more than likely, and the difference initially is only a few dollars per battery anyway.

Congrats on getting here, good luck and Vape On!

I took one puff off a eGo. Hell, I don't even know the exact name of it. I liked it though.
I've been chewing tobacco for 20 years and am looking for something to wean me off of it.
I once said, I wish they had a nicotine delivery system without the cigarette, and now there is.
Gum and all that doesn't have enough kick and I hope vape will.
Plus, it looks fun to mess around with.
I bought a Provari, after reading 100 posts on here and almost no one says a bad thing about them. The only downside is the price but knowing myself, I would upgrade until I ended up with the best anyway. In that scenario, I would have bought a few 50 dollar models, before I spent the 200.
The USPS tracking number says "Ready for Pickup" at the post so I'm heading over to try out my new toy.
Thanks for all the posts and reviews.

I think one of the better "starter" set ups I've seen is over at My Vapor Store: Spinner/Twist Combo. It's basically the kit I ended up with after trial and error. Three Twist batteries (1000mAh) with quite a few (now) Vision clearos. The batteries last a good six to seven hours on a charge and clearos are dead easy to deal with. Squirt juice in, screw on battery, vape. :)

I'm using the Visions myself and am happy with them but MVS also has Kanger brand clearos which have a good rep around here. Innokin, I'm not familiar with. Others may be. The Spinner batteries by Vision are also well liked around the forum. Some folks prefer them over the Twists (the knobs are easier to read and turn folks say but I do fine with my Twists, it's personal preference). You can get those is 1300mAh capacity which would last a good long time (I get around 40 or so minutes per 100mAh... more or less... so a 1300 could last, oh, 8.5 to almost 9 hours on a charge... not bad).

And clearos are easy to maintain. Not a lot to do with them. Need to wash them out once in a while or when changing liquids but not it's not a big "chore" or anything. Pretty straight forward set up. Not complicated. And since it's eGo syle (eGo being a style, not a brand), you have tons of vendors selling parts. You're not stuck with any single "source".

I post this general checklist for new members who are looking for a good start to the new lifestyle.

Hopefully this helps, in the end, this all varies due to your financial situation, your own tastebuds, what you want out of vaping and so on.

Btw, welcome to the family :vapor:

Checklist:

-2+ Ego style batteries (do yourself a favor, don't gimp out on batteries. Go 650MAH+ and get at least 2)
-Cartomizers, Atomizers, Tanks, Carto-tanks, Clearomizers...whatever you are curious about..do research and give them a try! Each different juice delivery system produces a different vape. Some might produce more vapor but gimp on the flavor a tad and some might do the opposite.
-SAMPLE PACKS OF JUICE! holy crap I can't stress that enough...when you are first getting into vaping get SAMPLE PACKS! A lot of vendors sell sample packs of juice (5+ different juices in usually 5ml bottles) they can be bought for cheap usually and you can sample a ton of different flavors. I recommend getting at least 2 sample packs to start with, if money isn't an option get 3+ from different vendors. I've had a plain menthol flavor from one vendor that tastes 100% different from another, since it isn't mass-produced and it is handmade, the making and flavors are different per each vendor.

Starter vendor list:

madvapes.com(fast shipping, out of north carolina, great customer service and decent prices!)
fasttech.com(out of china, ok shipping, most of the time this is a great vendor to buy from for cheap batteries and parts if you aren't in a hurry)
ecblends.com(good juices, decent prices, fast shipping)
vapor4life.com(ok prices, decently fast shipping)
namberjuice.com(great juices, ok pricing and fast shipping)
