In a blatant attempt to get my post count up, I wanted to ask people a question: Ive been vaping for about a week now, and although I've cut down my smoking habit considerably (a pack a day to 2-3 [analog]cigs a day), I still have the urge for an anolog. Is this common? I'll admit it is MUCH less of a craving than when I tried to quit with chantix/cold turkey...but the urge is still there. Any advice on getting the 'ol smoke monkey off my back would be a great help!

Im currently using the prefilled carts that came with it that were 24mg strength....they're a little strong; my mouth feels like ive been chewing on a cigar. I'm hoping new juice will help, but I'll take any advice I can get!

Thanks for the heads up about the water! That may explain my recent headaches.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that has the urge. I have ordered sampler from Pink Spot Vapors so that I can find the fluid that's right for me. I smoked red's exclusively for 20+ years, so I chose all the tobacco flavors hoping I can get the right taste. The gogo pro certainly has the TH just about right, so now it's all about getting that red flavor.

You won't ever find a true tobacco flavor but i like Dunhill from Elixir Liquid, it's a dirty almost true cig taste. I like that taste and it beats USA blend, etc...IMHO. Headaches can be from dehydration and also vaping too much...too much nicotine. I get bad headaches with the sweet flavors or when I don't remove my pv from my mouth...lol. I try to vape or drag 2-3 times then set try to set it aside for 30 min or more, if I don't I will end up chain vaping! Water is one of the biggest keys to vaping!! Even if you don't exercise alot or work outside, you need to almost double your water consumption and try NOT to add extra caffine because it is a diuretic and just worsens the dehydration.

Keep up the good work...it takes a bit of tweaking to figure out how, when and how much to vape!

I have been vaping almost 3 months now. Haven't had a real cig since. Sometimes, especially when I am almost through with a meal I will think, I got to go outside and smoke now. Then I think, well I got this and pick up my PV and start vaping and the cig urge goes away. I love the tobacco flavors, but don't limit yourself to just that. Waffle and pineapple are some of my favorites too. Lol, I have several PV's by me, all with different flavors! Good luck and welcome!

Heyas Ridikule,

I've only been vaping for about a month now. I still smoke analogs, but am down from 1+ pad, to 1-2 packs a week. Myself, I don't stress over how many analogs I still smoke. At the start, the nicotine from vaping just naturally curbed my desire for analogs. Hasn't eliminated the cravings, but they're lessened, so I smoked less. Recently, the last week or so, I have been consciously been trying to smoke less, but mainly because I'm finding the taste of analogs to be more and more god awful every day :p They really do leave a terrible taste in my mouth.

The things that I've found to help me are trying to remember to vape before I have a really strong craving for a smoke. The nicotine in vapor doesn't get absorbed into your system as readily as from smoke. So, if I wait until I REALLY want a cigarette, I know that vaping isn't going to just satisfy that craving immediately the way an analog will, so I smoke an analog. But if I make it a point to vape often throughout the day, those cravings rarely hit. I usually smoke 1 on the way to work (since my body is low on nicotine from sleeping), maybe 1 or two during my work day, although that's mainly when I'm real busy and forget to vape for an hour or so. One on the way home, since my work situation doesn't allow me to vape for the last 1.5+ hours of work, and maybe 1 or two more before I turn in for the night.

Second, like you I started off ordering lots of different tobacco and menthol flavors. i ordered a few other flavors just out of curiosity. As it turns out, I don't care for any of the tobacco flavors I ordered, and as for the menthol flavors, the more they taste like mint, and the less like a menthol analog, the more I tend to like them :p

My current favorite is a chocolate cream pg at 26mg. Tastes great, and leaves my mouth tasting like chocolate. MUCH more pleasant than what I now realize is a truely horrid aftertaste from analogs :p

And lastly, like I said to start with, not stressing about it helps me alot. If I were to swear off analogs, then slip and smoke one, I'd feel like a failure, and see no reason not to just start smoking full time again. By not worrying about it, every time I vape is a victory, instead of every analog a failure. That's all in my head, but it works for me :p

Good luck and welcome to the ecf,

Nice tips, Maximillian. I'll take those into account as I am new as well.

At first, I thought it would make sense that people converting to vaping would want a traditional tobacco flavor (as would I)... But then I thought: Why?... With all these flavors to choose from, why not something that tastes a little nicer than a real cigarette does?

If you want a good mint flavor, not so much menthol, I get a mint extract from grocery and add a few drops to my juice. It gives that cool mint flavor without the heavy menthol taste like from newports. Just my 2 cents :)

You could just put a few drops of the menthol into your tobacco flavors and it will change the flavor to a menthol. It might be better for you that way and you can use up your tobacco flavors.

Welcome to a new way of life man!!!
I've been a lurker in these forums for a while, and I just wanted to say thanks for all the reviews that led me to buying the right e-cig. Being limited on funds I wanted to research e-cigs before I broke down and bought one.

I ended up getting the gogo pro from cigeasy and I'm pretty happy with it!

different people like different things. i personally never liked the taste of cigarettes, always hated smoking them, just needed that dang nicotine. do like the smell of one occasionally, but i only vape non-tobacco flavors. don't want to be reminded of analogs.

something i would never have bothered to try was 'pecan roll' from mtnvapor (they threw in a sample with an order recently), anyway, i never liked pecans much, but after that sample i was shocked and just ordered 2 30ml bottles :)

seems though that type of delivery you use has a big impact on the flavor translation, something that tastes bad in a tank atomizer can taste pretty good in a cartomizer or probably drip tip, and vicea versa i suppose.
