Hey there! Forum noob on the loose!

Hey all! I'm new to the forum but have definitely been following this place for awhile; especially as I geared up to try new liquids. My husband and I are both Volt owners and so far, are enjoying the freedom vaping has provided us.

Right now, we just received a shipment of liquids from Vaperite and Backwoods Brew. *sigh* At this rate we will probably be returning back to Smokeless Image for our e-liquids. Yes flavor is subjective, but many of the flavors we purchased were downright unvapeable, tasted like perfume or cough syrup, or had some weird back flavor we couldn't place.

A little disappointed, we're on the hunt again for new flavors...in a few weeks...once the terror wears off. :glare:

I look forward to reading more from everyone and finding some real gems!

Don't jump into buying too many juices right off the bat. Your tastes really do change the longer you vape. Plus, some of the juices really need to steep.

If you do like the prefilled cartos, maybe look into some chinese juice. LiteCigUSA sells dekang juice.

I mentioned steeping to DH and he's fine with that. Fortunately we have some liquid and blanks of the flavors we know we like for sure. I'm hoping we can return to these flavors again in a week or two.

What flavors did you get?

Vaperite:

Organic Madagascar Tobacco (almost made me throw up)
Oragnic VR4 (this one wasn't terrible but it was more buttery than tobacco-ey)
RY4 Tobacco
Honey Tobacco (Cow Holy Hell why?!)
Hazelnut Tobacco
Turkish Blend (China Juice tastes like caramel apples for some reason but not in a good way)
Batch 21 (tastes like perfume)

Backwoods Brew

Casablanca- When I first hit this I was like "Oh, that's interesting." Then it dawned on me what it tastes like; the way a tobacco shop smells. I might like this one with time but I don't know.

Dulce De Leche- My husband was super excited about this one as he's looking for a sweet, caramelly/vanilla vape. This tasted nothing like he imagined...because it tasted bad.

Now this all could be caused by a couple of things I imagine. Our being used to Smokeless Image flavors (I'd beat someone with a stuffed Care Bear for a "Freedom" right about now), the flavors may need steeping, or our tastebuds need to adjust.

Finally, these could just be nasty as all get out to us and we're back to square one. Luckily we got sampler sizes so we're not too SOL but since tasting these flavors my mouth hums with them despite me going back to the RYU I love. *grumble* I'd like to figure out what I'm doing wrong so I can enjoy these flavors.

Drinking lots of water, more than you think you need, will improve the taste of your eliquids and also help flush the analog toxins out of your system. Most new vapers are dehydrated in the beginning, and lots of experienced vapers sometimes forget to drink enough water.

Thanks Dear Me, I definitely need to watch my water intake as I am constantly thirsty since I started vaping. From my reading, it appears my BWB's will need to sit for at least a month and I'll leave the Vaperites alone for a week or two; so maybe with adequate water consumption and aging things will be on the up.

My mom had a couple juices she liked that came with her pv. I looked around for her and could never get a juice that could duplicate the juice she liked that was in her prefilled carto.

I'm not familiar with Vaporite, and I don't even vape tobacco. My mom eventually found she really loved Backwood Brew Casablanca. In fact, it's the only juice she vapes now.

I'm really sorry you don't like your juices. It is so disappointing when that happens. Believe me, I know. That's the hardest part of this whole thing. Hang onto them and give them a try again in a week or two.

Definitely try them again after steeping. Especially if you're new to vaping. Your taste buds can be really messed up in the beginning! :)

So after last night I didn't vape any more for the rest of the evening and took some time to rest my tastebuds from flavor overload. Woke up, had some water, dinked around in Visual Studio, had some more water, and took a puff off of my Volt with a freshly filled carto of 777.

Completely different taste to me now. More like a richer 555, a mellow vape I'm sure I'll be puffing on the rest of the day.

Based on a few tips from other threads, I've taken the caps off of the new juices and will leave them off for a few hours before I store them away to steep.
