Hey Ya'll from South Carolina, Plus Battery Question

Thanks for viewing my first post on the forum, I have found it to be very informational and im looking forward to participating in the discussions. I have been vaping for the last 13 months. I recently decided to get into mods and rebuildables since vaping has become one of my hobbies. I have been reading alot about ohms law and working with a calculator and multimeter and i have a question about batteries. So right now im running a 1.3 ohm coil with a 3.7v (2000mAh)18650 imr battery. My question is, where can i get good information on doing the calculations to determine what the battery can safely discharge in amps. I want to go down to a .9 or .8 ohm on my next build but i want to make sure that i am safe. Also if you can recommend any 18650's i would be grateful. Thanks again everyone,

i would recommend sony 30 amp batteries. you will be the safest with those.

I'm not sure if you realize - the safe maximum discharge rate is determined by the manufacturer. You can't calculate that - it's something you need to find out about the battery to begin with.

Understood, I have been looking for that information, and have gotten a couple of different spreadsheets, the main issue is that on the packaging of the 18650 i have, says they were made by EH. One quick search (at least for me) on google does not return the manufactures site. essentially you can place a scope on a battery and calculate that amps and you will be able to determine the safe discharge based on the readings but that is too much work. lol

you just need a calculator, read the batt. spec. then:
Wattage = V^2/r
V=I*R

Where V is Voltage, r is resistance and W is Wattage, all referring to the batt (since its a mech).
