Long time reader and first time poster, been vaping for about 2 months now and love it!

I do have a question though. I was using my Vmax, vaping on Gorilla juice on a 2.4 vivi Nova, voltage at 3.3. Had to charge my batts.

Charged them, and just burned 2 atomizers! I did check and make sure it's set at 3 volts (I always start there with a fresh atty, and bump it up)

I don't know if the Vmax is overvolting and not displaying this error, or if my batts got overcharged and are discharging hella amperage, Ohm's Law shows different, but I now have two attys that are showing OPEN and one loaded that I don't want to burn up because new ones (and batts) will be coming in tomorrow. And I have no backup, I may pick up an eGo at a local place if I have to so I can get by.

Thanks yall!

the Vmax uses a type of electrical signal called pulse-width modulation, which gives short bursts of six volts and tries to keep the stream of power consistant by doing this at a high frequency.

chances are, the coil just couldn't take it, PWM generally shortens coil life by a ton...only way to avoid it is to wrap your own coils and use better, thicker wire....generally i use kanthal a-1 28 AWG wire because of it's thickness and resistance to popping, however i don't think that particular gauge wire would work well on the nova....you might want to take up rebuilding them and stockpile wick and wire instead of replacing those heads every time....get you some 32 gauge kanthal and silica wick, go to youtube and learn how to rebuild them yourself for pennies on the dollar....and here is your link:

Forgot to mention in my intro that i started with blu two months ago, grew up and got a rebranded eGo kit from a local company (saveasmoker) went on a trip to Birmingham Alabama and stopped by VulcanVapes, another trip later and i got the Vmax and ViVi Nova.

Any back to my issue. I fixed it.

With Adaptive Pulse Modulation the voltage will max out attempting to make a connection, obviously if the coil is open or very high resistance no path to ground will exist.

When it was looking for a connection for an extended period of time, and it found one, voltage stayed high until it was verified.

Solution, tighten down Atty.
