I finally decided on the joye510 to start off with. It took 7 days to get it, but was I ever stoked when it arrived.
I'm embarrassed to tell you the rest of this story, but it's funny so I'll share it.
I was like a kid with a new toy when I opened up the box. I'd ordered a pre-filled pkg. of carts and some empty ones, plus 30ml of juice with my starter kit. Anyways, I'm reading the instructions & they say to "click the cartridge onto the atomizer". Well, I'm looking at the atomizer...& looking at the cartridge...wondering "how is this cartridge going to fit onto the atomizer?" 8-o It looked as though the atty was all one piece. I played around with it, and was careful not to break it when I was trying to see if it came apart somewhere, but it didn't look as though it did. So, I watched some of the videos from this forum, & could see that these guys were easily just attaching the carts to the atty. I seriously thought I was sent the wrong type of cartridges..."there was no way the cart would fit on to the end of this atty." So I send a message to the customer service of where I ordered from saying "I think you sent the wrong carts".
After I sent the email, I decided to take another look at the atty and as soon as I pulled the end, a blank cartridge came off ! I had no idea ! It all looked like one whole piece.
OK, well maybe it wasn't that funny. I felt kinda embarrassed about sending the email to customer service. The thing is, for someone to see the 510 for the very 1st time (seeing an PV for the first time, not just a picture), its NOT obvious that the atomizer has 2 parts, it looks like one piece...and the instructions say nothing about taking the end of the atomizer. For someone unexperienced it was a wee bit frustrating, but I had a good laugh at myself later.
Anyways, I got it going & I'm really enjoying it so far. :D

Most manuals don't tell a beginner anything:lol: It was good for a laugh:D I usually give a little class to people who think they want to use one:)

Having a good read now. Thank you for the link to the user guide! This is explaining a lot of the things I had questions about.

And it cut my "sit there and stare at it with a stupid look on my face" time significantly to know there will possibly be a blank cart on the atty when the e-cig arrives. lol

With my first e-cig, I vaped priming liquid until the battery died.
I remember thinking, oh boy, it's going to take a lot for me to convince myself that these are just as good as cigarettes... The instruction manual (the parts I could decipher) didn't mention anything about blank cartridges.

This EXACT thing happened to me.. I figured the cignot ladies threw me a free ie, 2 carts on the attys and 5 extras :) in my defense, the kits picture shows both attys packaged on their own. I vaped for a good hour on and off on nasty primer with pathetic amounts of vapour and was trying real hard to like it. Needless to say, when I got a REAL cart on 'er I was blown away

maaaahahahahahahahaha

ok, well. I ordered a 2-piece (the KR8, obviously) and man, I could not wait for it to get here. I whipped it out, unpacked a carto, pulled off the two condoms and tried to screw the carto onto the battery. Well, it had this little rubber thing stuck in the way, and there was just no way it was going to screw on. So I though "Ah. Well. They sent me the wrong style of carto. Let's see if the next one will work..." So I pulled the condoms off and, lo and behold, that one didn't have the little rubber plug in it. I vaped away. It took me a while to realize I was supposed to pull the .... plug out if it didn't come out with the condom. I mean seriously. They don't put that stuff in the directions. I know. I checked. I'm just that dense!
